This is a 1976 Plymouth Valiant SCAMP. Two door hartop coupe. This was the sporty Valiant produced by Chrysler Corporation (sibling to the Dodge Dart Swinger) during the 1970's. I am the second owner since new. Bought this car from the first owner in 1986 while both worked at Eastern Airlines in Miami. As an experienced aircraft mechanic, I have kept this car in perfect working condition always. This car was my daily driver until a few days ago, when I bought a 1992 Honda, since then I still drive the Scamp occasionally and still works like a champ. This car has never been involved in any accident and the body is in very sound condition, except for few rusty spots that are typical of all Chrysler products of the 1970's such as the lower corners of the front and rear windshields, some blistering at the lower back end of the rear quarters, and some rust around the reinforcing plate that holds the gas tank bracket on the spare wheel well that needs repair. This car has factory front disc brakes and rear drum brakes, recently checked and found OK. The air condition works fine and it's the original factory installed air condition. I overhauled the compressor and changed the dryer afew years ago. I replaced the original AM radio for a FM/AM Cassette SONY. The front and rear seats have the original upholstery in very good condition. The door and rear interior panels are the factory original and in very good condition. The front carpet has stains that can be cleaned. The rear carpet is in very good condition. The instrument panel top cover looks like new, no cracks or any defects, I also installed a sun rays protector cover over it (see pictures). All gauges in the instrument panel work fine. The instrument cluster was replaced in 1999. The engine is a "slant six" 225 cu. in. In 1993 I replaced piston rings, rod bearings, valves, lifters and timing chain. I also installed a High Volume new oil pump. At this time, the engine is not burning any oil and has very good compression. This car is equipped with a transmission oil cooler. The transmission was overhauled in 1994 and up to this time works perfectly. At that time also the universal joints were replaced. The rear axle was opened and inspected for defects, found to be in perfect order. In 1999 I replaced the water pump and the radiator with a heavy duty radiator. The battery was replaced in January 2008. Recenly I replaced the Starter motor. Also recently I installed four new tires as you can see in the pictures. In the trunk has the original jack installed properly and in the trunk lid has the original decal indicating how to operate the jack. Together with the car I have several spare parts that are hard to get and they will be part of the deal. What you see is what you get.
