1979 TRANS AM 455 Project Car This 455 big block car starts and runs good with no mechanical problem that I know of. It is very stout and the trans shifts good as it should. It has a posi and will still spin the tires pretty easily. The tires are new . I am selling the car as a project because it need the seatbelts fixed and a neutral safety switch installed. The paint is very presentable, but it does have a few flaws from chips and the door jams could have been a little neater. The interior is driver quality with a tear on the passenger side and the door panels need replaced. I would replace them if I was keeping it but I bought the car to sale. The car has the frame rails tied together and the rear rails are reinforced. The car has alot of power and runs alot better than the 400 or 403 cu. in. version . The motor has a great oil pressure and there is no smoke issues. I cut out a place on the rear floor pan and replaced it the a patch and a couple of small places in the wells. I bought the car after it had been painted and I checked the rockers and lower front fenders with a magnet. They will hold a magnet and the rear quarters have been replaced. I was told the 455 was a early to mid seventy motor. I think the trans is a turbo 400. This car can be driven as you fix the things you choose to fix or replace. The car has flowmasters and and long tube headers and it sound very good.. All the lights work and signals. This car drives good and straight down the road. I may have the neutral safety swiched fixed, but as a buyer you know the seat belts and switch have to be fixed to be safe. All of the seat belts are there, but the ratched return do not work. The windows could use some adjusting too, but they roll up and down fine. 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 The weather stripping has been replaced. 21 22 EXCEL DISTRIBUTOR AND COIL. 23 24 This was a A/C car before the 455 was installed . Sorry, but I do not have the hoses or compresser. There is one small crack in the console that could be fixed and there is one on the dash that has been fixed but can be seen. The carpet appears to be pretty new. 25 26 27 28 The radio is a pioneer and sounds good with pioneer speakers. The steering wheel shows alot of wear and its age. 29 30 31 I 32 33 We painted this patch after it was put on. 34 The left side after it was patched. The flomasters sound great. The framerail conectors are nice to have. Terms of Sale The buyer will submit a NON-REFUNDABLE $1,500.00 deposit within 48 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. Deposit will be made through Paypal. No sort of checks will be accepted for deposit. Buyer agrees to pay the remaining balance due within 7 days of the end of the auction. Balance will be paid by wire transfer. All financial transactions must be completed before removal of vehicle. If deposit or balance is not received within time frame indicated, buyer will forfeit the right to purchase. If you cannot meet the terms of the auction, DO NOT BID! The buyer will need to obtain coverage as soon as the auction is over. I will keep the car for up to 3 weeks in a garage free of charge unless other arrangements are made.
