Vehicle Detail

Here for your review is a 1959 Edsel Ranger 2 Door Sedan. This car original was a 6 cylinder car. The motor was blown and replaced with a 62 six before I got it. I installed a 59 Ford 292 backed by a Ford 2 speed automatic transmission. The mileage shown is 33,605. I don't know if it's gone around but given it's 51 year age, it's possible, though there is no rust through. There are a couple of small spots bubbled under the paint, but nothing major. The motor runs good but the carb is missing the choke spring and could probably use rebuilding. The wiper motor was replaced to a electric model when the V8 was installed. The wiper motor was sent out to a professional builder on Edsel.com and is newly rebuilt. The interior is in super shape with black and grey seats and a white headliner per the inspection plate. The top of the rear seat is showing sun wear but the rest of the seats and the red carpet are in very good shape. The body is in great shape, especially considering the age. The body is red, as stated on the inspection plate, though the roof is painted black, and should be Snow White per the plate. There is a hole in the panel behind the rear license plate. Looks like some type of plug was there at some point. The transmission shifts good but it has a leak at the dipstick tube and i hadn't found the right size o-ring yet. The paint is faded and has some sap on it. It could use a good buffing and waxing. I don't have the time to really detail it to bring out the depth and richness still in this paint. I had lots of plans for this baby but circumstances have changed. I also installed late model Mustang GT wheels. The treads are like new. I'll also include the Ford simulated knock-off caps for the wheels. I'll also include the twin antennas i was going to install, the remote driver's door mirror and a four barrel manifold for the 292. Oh yeah, i do have the taillight assemblies and will install them. My loss is your gain. Here are the inspection plate numbers: Body=64C, Color=FE1, Trim=501, Date=02D, Trans=3, Axle=2.
