Vehicle Detail

Here is your chance to own a piece of motorcycling history....An authentic Dunstall Honda Cafe Racer! Up for bids is my 1974 Dunstallized CB750 Honda. This bike has almost all the period correct British made Dunstall aftermarket parts that were available in the mid 1970's. Specifically the original early Dunstall fiberglass tank, Dunstall fairing, Dunstall front fender, Dunstall clip-ons, Full Dunstall exhaust including original Dunstall mufflers, Dunstall dual seat and solo seat (on bike). Additional period correct aftermarket parts include, Raask rear-sets, Boge-Mulholland shocks, 69/70 (tailight, grab handles, rear signal mounts) and Lester cast wheels (19F, 18R) with new rubber. In adition it features custom gauge faces, keyless ignition, British fork gaiters, polished fork legs, dual drilled CB550 disc brakes, polished rebuilt calipers, braided lines and modern remote reservoir master cylinder. It also features a chrome swing arm, new chain and polished upper triple clamp. THE ENGINE....is a 1972 (based on the serial #) and has a Yoshimura 812 overbore kit, with a mild street cam. It has a modified cam cover to strengthen the cam towers. Barnett clutch and springs, Dyna electronic ignition, Carbs are bored out to 29mm and rejetted with K&N pod filters. This bike has a clear Canadian title in my name and will be included along with an Ontario Safety Certificate, original Honda owners manual, and two magazines with features on this specific bike. Extra's included with sale; one pair of original working instruments (speedo and tach), spare original windscreen, Dual Dunstall seat with 1974 tail light, original locks, key, and ignition switch. New Dunstall peg rubbers, and passenger pegs. History; I purchased this bike from a good friend of mine who had owned it for 13 years. It had been in storage for the last 6 seasons of his ownership. I went through the bike front to back and cleaned, fixed, repaired and made improvements as necessary to put it back on the road. I am a retired Aircraft Mechanic and have been working on CB750's for over 35 years. It is now a very clean, (Certified) mechanically excellent motorcycle. It is period correct but NOT a show bike. All of the Dunstall bodywork still has the original red gelcoat finish that is in very nice shape and shows well, especially considering it is almost 40 years old. The bike runs excellent and everything works as original, it pulls strong to redline and does not burn oil. It shifts cleanly through all gears and is ready to ride. I have done a number of 100+ mile trips without any mechanical issues. In the interest of full honesty here are the bikes negatives: It does not idle as smoothly as a stock CB750 due to the carbs and cam (yes, the carbs are synchronised!) The left electrical side cover has a crack (has been epoxied on the inside) The Dual Dunstall seat that is included has minor cracking and minor upholstery issues (see pics) The right rearset aluminum footpeg plate was cracked and rewelded. The right front cylinder barrels at the base have 2 small broken fins (see pics) The windscreen on the bike was cut down by approx 3 inches to trim away some damage but looks perfect and works very well. In addition the smaller solo seat installed was originally intended for a Suzuki 250 with minor modifications to fit this bike. IN ADDITION TO THE PICS.....SEE THE VIDEO....to see an interview about this bike and see it in action google twowheelclassics.com, ( In Search of the Ultimate Two Wheel Classic )click on videos and then click on the Dunstall segment. This was filmed last year and the bike is even nicer now....Don't let this one slip away.....An original Dunstall Cafe Racer, British good looks , with Honda reliability! Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Prefer local pick-up but will help with shipping if necessary. NOTE; Purchaser is responsible for ALL shipping costs! Paypal ONLY! Payment in full within 7 days of auctions close!
