1965 PONTIAC GTO “TRIBUTE CAR” (NO RESERVE AUCTION) This car is beautiful! Don't let this one get away. The prices on these original muscle cars just keep going up and up. You can spend upwards of $50,000 or more; or buy this one at less than half the cost and enjoy it without worries. Ready for the next car show or to cruise down the boulevard. The car is basically stock. When we enter car shows, the car is in Stock Class and muscle car. Rebuilt engine in September 2000 at 56,000 miles by The Engine Depot located in Charlotte, NC. The color is Hurst Tiger Gold with a New black vinyl top and redone 3-pc trim. Frame-On restoration started in 1999 – every thing underneath is still very clean and new-looking. Seat upholstery (Gold) is New condition - no rips, tears, gouges, scratches. Star Pattern Headliner is also New in wonderful condition - clean and blemish-free. Carpet brand new - clean and not worn. Following is a list of things that we have done on the GTO since the restoration began. I have virtually all the receipts for what I have done. -NOS, Used Original, New Reproduction parts were used (Ames Performance) -Over $30,000 invested -Under 59,000 original miles on body; a 326 cu. in. that was professionally re-built to the specs of the famous 389 cu. in. 6.5 Liter -New trunk rubber, hood rubber, window rubbers and door rubbers -New Stainless Steel fuel lines -New fuel pump -New stainless steel brake lines -New upper and lower ball joints -New tie rod ends -New GTO emblems -New correct T-3 headlights -New 4 core radiator -New radiator core support bushings -New voltage regulator and condenser -New starter with heat/dust cover -Edelbrock 650 cfm 4-barrel carburetor and setup with Ram air. Ram air is metal with K&N air filter, looks original. -New 100 amp alternator -New dual master cylinder -New power brake booster -New drums, brakes and shoes and drum brake hardware set, front and rear -New wheel cylinders -New cowl rubber -New resistor -New coil -Newly re-built Turbo 350 transmission -New rear wheel bearings and seals -New front springs and larger torsion bar -New rear springs and torsion bar -New A/C Delco front and rear shocks -New rocker moldings -Cleaned and repainted tail panel; chrome ribs in excellent condition which is rare for an original tail panel (all 6 studs in great condition, not broken, which is also rare for an original) -Trunk area restored and has reproduction mats -Original jack completely restored to original color, with jack storage bag that matches trunk mats -Original Firestone spare tire -14x6 wheels, 3-bar Spinner hubcaps. -New Coker Radial Classics redline tires, 195/70R14 -(1967) H.O. exhaust manifolds -New 2-1/2" exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers -Chrome exhaust splitters INTERIOR: -Simulated wood grain steering wheel -Installed automatic console and shifter in excellent condition. Trim on console is excellent. Chrome on shifter and shifter knob is excellent. Lens and chrome trim on back of console is new. Light inside console works, as does the light on the back of the console. -Rear console courtesy light is the rare light with on/off switch. Console light indicator works well -Installed vacuum gauge (dealer option) on console. Works great. Chrome and face of gauge are immaculate. -Installed tach gauge on console. works great. Chrome and face of gauge are immaculate. -Replaced rearview mirror and bracket, which were pitted, with reproduction -Replaced sun visor brackets -Original AM radio, updated with new AM/FM Cassette Pontiac Stereo -New speaker in front dash -Installed Rally clock -New dome light and lens -Original reproduction Pontiac floor mats -All interior lights in good working condition -Windows roll up and down nice I have described this GTO to the best of my ability and I don't think I have left anything out. This just briefly describes the extensive amount of work and parts list involved. Long, long list of parts. Was restored to be a reliable and trust worthy means of enjoyment and worry free pleasure.
