Restored California Highway Patrol Show-Car For your consideration is my 1990 Ford Crown Victoria Restored California Highway Patrol (C.H.P.) "slick-top" squad car. This vehicle was formerly CHP unit # 390999. It was retired from the C.H.P. in 1992 and transferred to the California Youth Authority (C.Y.A.), where it was used as an administration vehicle until 2002. I purchased this vehicle off of eBay last year from a dealer in the San Francisco bay area, who restores older police vehicles to in-service condition, which is how it was when I bought it. When I purchased the vehicle, the seller indicated the exhaust system had been replaced and the vehicle had been fully tuned-up. I've not done anything extra to the vehicle and have only driven it occassionally since acquiring it. It drives fine with no known problems. What I've noticed is that the steering is slightly loose and could be adjusted. There is also a small chip/crack in the middle of the windshield. Overall, this vehicle is ready to be shown as is if the buyer wanted to. The odometer indicates 22,298. This is only a factory 5-digit odometer, so I assume the actual mileage is 122,298 as that is more in-line with the mileage reading at the time the C.Y.A. sold the vehicle in 2007. The state of California generally takes good care of their vehicles with regular maintenance, so even higher mileage vehicles tend to continue running strong. The exterior of the vehicle is in good shape with correct period, authentic CHP decals, and antennas installed. There are also the correct C.H.P. black dual spotlights on the A-pillars. There is the correct C.H.P. push bumper and speaker mounted to the front. The interior rear view mirror also has the correct C.H.P. red light installed in the headliner. The rear deck also has the proper C.H.P. sealed beam lights installed. Inside the vehicle is the shotgun and AR-15 electrolock and GE radio head, which is proper for this era of C.H.P. vehicle. The cage divider is original to the vehicle and had remained there when the vehicle was transferred to the C.Y.A. from the California Highway Patrol. I will also include a complete mobile camera recorder and VHS vault to the winning bidder. This is in the trunk and is not wired. The spots on the car as seen in the photographs are only rain drops from a passing cloud as I was taking pictures. PLEASE NOTE: This is a restored show-car and not a daily driver. The lights and decals should be covered up when operating on public roadways. Please check with your local law enforcement before operating this vehicle as laws vary from state-to-state regarding use of the vehicle on public roadways. Per eBay policy, all of the emergency equipment is NOT connected and will be up to the buyer to connect. All of the emergency lighting was disconnected when I purchased it and it has remained so. After that, full payment needs to have been received by me within the next 7 days of the close of auction. I DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL AS PAYMENT FOR THE BALANCE DUE. In other words, full payment balance after deposit is due 7 days after the auction close date, and must be paid via cash (in person only for cash), cashiers check, or money order. Mileage may vary upon delivery due to occasional use and test drives. This vehicle is factory equipped with only a 5 digit odometer.
