Vehicle Detail

1971 Classic Dodge Demon 318V Auto, 96,800 original miles with all original title/blue sheet/owner's manual, etc. Vehicle has always been in a dry climate (Montana), therefore little or no rust. History: It ran until there was a whole in the gas tank (1990) it has sat since then. Has a super clean engine compartment with no rust. There is no rust in the floor boards or the wheel wells, in fact the only rust is abover the rear wheel. The engine turned over with jumper cables, but the gas tank is not hooked up. Most of the lights and electrical work. All fluids are still up to levels. No leaks in oil, transmission and radiator. The passenger door has a dent but opens and the windows crank up and the hinges are good. I have a key to the ignition, but key to the trunk was snapped off. All the glass is in tact with the windshield having the only gravel crack. The engine is one of the best features of this vehicle. Fluids are still up to level after sitting idle for 20 years. The mileage on the engine appears to be original, 96,800. Paperwork documentation to prove the mileage was only 77,000 in 1985. Aside from a cracked washer reservoir, everything is squeeky clean with no rust and original paint (see pictures). The rest of the mechanical looks fine with the exception of the muffler needing to be replaced. Replacement gas tank comes with the vehicle, with straps and fill spout (ready to be installed). Tires need to be replaced, but should hold air for transport. The transmission seems to be fine. With the fluid still being pink and the level still reading normal. When in neutral the vehicle rolls freely, and when in park it holds the vehicle. Interior: Floor panels have no rust. The windows crank, seat belts work, dashboard lights and the backseat seem to be fine. The front bench seat, headliner and carpet all need to be reconditioned. The exterior is basically in good shape with minor surface rust on the top and flat surfaces (hood, trunk, top). The chrome bumpers are amazingly clean and so is the glass (which is all in tact). Metal is great with no hail damage evident. The driver door has a dent, but still opens and closes and the window operates. Again, this is a Montana car, so no humidity and no salt. The vehicle has always been locally owned in Eastern Montana, perviously owned by a farm family in our neighborhood. It ran until there was a whole in the tank. My sons and I had thought we would have the time to restore the vehicle, but other things took priority. We also have a 1971 Demon without a title that was going to be used for parts. Payment will be made through Paypal. On Feb-02-11 at 10:24:00 PST, seller added the following information: Newly revised listing for 1971 Classic Dodge Demon 318V Auto. SO Many questions from potential bidders: (I was able to get outside yesterday and get some great pictures with the carpet pulled out, trunk exposed and underneath the vehicle) What I found was AMAZING - nothing but original blue paint.. My goal is to provide all the information I can about the vehicle so you can be very confident in what you are looking at. The car is in much better shape than I ever imagined. Compared to other cars in more humid regions, this is a dry car that is AMAZING. I have a lot of additional pictures I can send email, so please call or email 605-717-2109 or email ryersons@rushmore.com. We want you to bid with confidence. Call and I will send you ALL the pictures. We were unable to add most of the pictures we took yesterday.
