Selling my late uncle's 1979 VW Rabbit 1.5 Diesel 5 speed manual transmission. It currently has 92.498 miles on the odometer. He purchased it new overseas delivery direcly from Germany in June 1979. It has current California registration until Oct 2011. The Order confirmation lists the following specs for the car: Rabbit 2-Door Deluxe Diesel, 5-speed -Mexico Beige-Seats-Brown Leath.-Heavy Duty Radiator-Tinted Glass-High Capacity Heat Exch-AM/FM Radio The car has always been in the family since new, and here in the San Francisco bayarea California since new. He picked it up in Europe brand new. Still have all the documentation from when it was purchased: "Receipt for tourist cor order and order confirmation", "The Interenational Vehicle Registration" instruction in English and the actual stamped resgistration in German along with the matching "egg plates" the car came with as new. The car is in original condition, it has not been restored or repainted. It would be the perfect candidate for someone looking to make a show car out of it, it has pontetial for that. It is equipped with German Hella European headlights, chrome metal door handles and mirrors and smaller European style chrome metal bumpers. It also has the original working AM/FM Radio that is even listed on the invoice. The was recently serviced with new timing belt, new brake master cylinder and brake cylinders on the wheels. It also got a new radiator just recently. All maintnance parts are German original parts just as uncle wanted it. The engine starts up right away and runs nicely.
