The Royce Bellini Collection is a licensed Florida classic car dealer and is pleased to offer for sale this very cool 1973 Volkswagen Thing. This car is a real show stopper and has undergone a complete pan off restoration. The rust free body and pan was stripped to bare metal and completely disassembled. The body was painted with a two state PPG base coat clear coat. The color is VW Cyber Metallic Green which is a factory Volkswagen color used on the new Beetle. It has custom widened rear fenders and custom made polished stainless steel bumpers. The interior is custom made tweed with green stitched VW logos. It has a custom Pioneer sound system with amp, deck, and speakers. The top and boot is custom made canvas. The side curtains have never been out of its case. It also has a removable hardtop which is finished in the same color as the body. The engine is a well built, highly detailed 2180cc with dual 44 Dellorto carburetors, a hefty cam, external oil cooler, ceramic coated headers, and MSD electronic ignition. I would estimate the horsepower to be around 125. The transmission is a Freeway Flyer. It has disc brakes from a 70's Karmann Ghia. It has been lowered considerably and has air shocks that allows you to raise and lower the car with ease. It sits on polished aluminum rims. This car underwent a no expenses spared restoration and was completed in 2005. It has only been driven less than 2,500 miles since then. The true milage since new is exempt. It has won countless awards at major Volkswagen shows up and down the east coast. This is a turn key show car that needs nothing, everything is in show quality condition.
