pminotto Store 97 LINCOLN MARK VIII 4.6L BASE MODEL, 130,000 MILES THIS CAR HAS HAD MANY HIGH DOLLAR ITEMS REPLACED, BUT STILL NEED SOME MORE TLC. HERE ARE SOME OF THE NEW ITEMS: NEW HID HEADLIGHTS FROM FORD----------------- MOST PARTS ARE APPROX 2 YRS OLD AFTERMARKET HID BULBS AND BALLASTS 4 WHEEL SUSPENSION SPRING CONVERSION KIT REAR GAS SHOCK CONVERSION BASE MODEL MARK VIII HAS HAD ALL THE LSC TRIM ADDED- GRILL, BUMPERS, MOLDING, REAR NEON. (CAR HAD A FENDER BENDER A YEAR OR TWO AGO, SO I UPGRADED THE BUMPERS AT THAT TIME.) REINFORCED BLEND DOOR MOTOR WINDSHIELD ALMOST ALL OF THE FRONT END IS NEW OR IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. CONTROL ARMS ETC. OEM 10 DISC CD CHANGER SUNROOF CLEAN TITLE IN HAND OTHER GOOD STUFF: ENGINE RUNS STRONG, LOTS OF POWER. INTERIOR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. AFTERMARKET RIMS. READY TO BE DRIVEN HOME BAD STUFF/NEEDS WORK: FADED PAINT ON ROOF AND FRONT(SEE PICS) THE SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER HAS NOT BEEN WORKING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS MILEAGE IS LESS THAN 130K(HAVE PROOF THROUGH RECEIPTS). IT READS 123K WHEN TURNED ON. I DON'T KNOW WHY THE SPEEDO STOPPED WORKING. THIS AFFECTS THE SPEEDO, ODOMETER, ANTI-LOCK AND TRACTION CONTROL, SO THE DASH LIGHTS ARE LIT UP. IDLE SOMETIMES FLUCTUATES A BIT, HAD IT SCANNED WHEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON(THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND OFF) --CODE WAS P1413= AIR INJECTION SYSTEM CIRCUIT LOW. CODE P1342 ALSO CAME UP FOR THE ANTI-LOCK ( WHICH IS PROBABLY THE SPEEDO PROBLEM) REAR NEON LIGHT DOES NOT LIGHT UP(ALL THE TIME). PROBABLY NEEDS A BALLAST, NOT SURE. MINOR LEAK/DRIP FROM POWER STEERING LINE. THE CAR HAS POWER TILT AND TELESCOPIC FOR THE STEERING WHEEL. THE TILT FUNCTION DOES NOT WORK FRONT END WILL MAKE A CLUNK NOISE ONCE WHEN THE CAR IS FIRST DRIVEN, AFTER SITTING A WHILE(IT STOPS ONCE YOUR MOVING). THIS IS THE FRONT STRUT ROD/CHASSIS MOUNT BUSHINGS. PRACTICALLY THE ONLY THING IN THE FRONT END THAT HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED. I HAVE THE NEW BUSHINGS IN THE BOX, BUT YOU NEED TO INSTALL THEM. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT CAR FOR SOMEONE WITH MECHANICAL KNOWLEDGE AND A SCAN TOOL. MOST OF THE REPAIRS SHOULD BE INEXPENSIVE TO FIX, BUT NEED A MECHANIC OR MARK VIII ENTHUSIAST THAT CAN DO THE LABOR THEMSELVES. THE NEW PARTS ALONE ARE WORTH MORE THAN THE ASKING PRICE OF THE CAR.
