Vehicle Detail
Up for auction to the highest bidder is this Custom Restorod 1953 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup. It is equipped with all the amenities, a 12 volt electrical system w/ upgraded wiring harness, power steering, power brakes, power windows, ice cold air-conditioning, heat, a new Pioneer AM/FM stereo tuner & CD player w/ 4-way speakers, keyless entry w/ Bear Claw latches, Craiger chrome wheels, Dolphin gauges, Premier halogen headlights. 12 volt wipers, tachometer and vacuum gauge. It has a fiberglass bed with a reinforced fiberglass top. The bed is an early 90's Ford Ranger style. (the best of both worlds for Chevrolet and Ford enthusiast alike!) New tinted glass all around. New front and rear chrome bumpers with new front bumper guards, a new bumper filler, and fog lamps. Re-chromed dash panel and glovebox door. This is not a rat rod! This is a custom frame-off resto-rod done right! And, you will not find another one like it! Not interested in any trades of any sort, thank you! The cab and bed are mounted to a 1976 GMC Suburban frame with a 1975 Nova front subframe. It has power front wheel disc brakes and rear drum brakes. Front coil spring suspension! A rebuilt Chevy 350 C.I. engine and TH350 automatic transmission go along with the rear end, all from a 1978 Chevrolet Caprice. HEI ignition. The tranny was recently serviced and completely re-sealed. It has a 4bbl Rochester carburetor with a chrome air-cleaner and chrome valve covers. The radiator was very recently re-cored. The master cylinder and power brake booster are GMC from 1976 year model. The tilt-steering column is from a 1975 Chevrolet Caprice with a Grant 3-spoke alloy steering wheel. The seats and center console are from a 1984 Oldsmobile 88. Four BF Goodrich tires with less than 500 miles since new (about 1 year ago). The battery is new, it and the spare tire & rim rest in the front of the bed under the lid. This truck has been garage kept since the restoration was completed! There is not a drop of any type of fluid leaking from under this truck. It was finished about Y2K and has been driven less than 2,400 miles since its completion, mostly to car shows and meetings. It drives and handles basically like a brand new vehicle. I am selling this vehicle for a friend for whom I have sold vehicles here on eBay in the past. He is not internet savvy, so I get the honor. I have inspected and driven this truck. This is my description from all the information I have gathered and from my personal observations. As you can imagine, it takes a serious amount of cash to do the custom work done here. The cost of parts and materials has not gone down! My reserve price is well below the money invested in this truck (about 1/2), not to mention the time and effort that has been spent doing all the work! ********************************************************************************************************************************** I will not disclose the reserve price, so please do not ask, you will not get an answer! The only way to find out is to bid! If the reserve price is met I will not back out of the sale and say I had a better offer, you will be the owner, so bid to win and follow through afterwards! You are welcomed and encouraged to inspect the vehicle prior to placing a bid. (Serious potential bidders only, no tire-kickers please! If you send an inspection firm, be sure they have their credentials with them, no free joy rides!) ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************ A non-refundable $1,000 cash deposit or deposit via PayPal will be required within 48 hours of auction end. The entire balance is due within 10 days of auction end. Payment must be made in full before this vehicle leaves the current owner's posession, no exceptions. This vehicle has a current and valid Florida title with no leans. The winning bidder will be responsible for te title transfer and transport of the vehicle to their desired location, and any costs incurred in doing so. I will work with you and accomodate you the best I can with the transport process. Or, you can drive it home! ********************************************************************************************************************************** This is what may not be visible in the photos: The Glasspack mufflers and heat shieds are real, but were disconnected and a new dual exhaust system with mufflers was recently installed, the Glasspacks can be re-connected if desired. The paint has a few areas of light orange peel in the clearcoat which can be wet-sanded and buffed out. The right hand tail light lense has a small chip in the edge (replacement lenses ae readily available). The remote for the keyless entry is not working, there are other hidden devices to open each door. Though it is sound with no leaks, there is a small dent in the gas tank. A picture says a thousand words, so I am adding a bunch of photos to Photobucket at this address: http://s756.photobucket.com/albums/xx209/CollectorcarCharlie/ <- click here to see more! Please, if you have any questions, feel free to ask! Thank you for viewing my auction! Happy bidding!
