Vehicle Detail

1961 RENAULT 4 CV - BARN FIND VIRGINIA CAR PARTS CAR or RESTORATION PROJECT This is a very complete and very correct original 4 CV Renault. The engine spins over, but has not run for many years. It was exposed for years outdoors, but has come out of dry indoor storage where it has been hidden away for at least the last 10 years. It does not appear to have suffered any substantial prior accident damage. All of the glass is original and good. The chrome is pitted. The front boot latch is broken. The valve cover breather cap is missing. The generator is off the car but with it. There are two extra spare wheels. The odometer reads 66,007, and is probably over once (166,007 miles). We don't know. There is an old Virginia clear title to convey. Hoses are off, but the radiator is in place. There is an old head gasket among the loose parts and pieces, which might indicate prior motor overhaul or work was done. We don't know. There are no tools, jack or crank with the car. There are no manuals or records with the car. We feel it is very restorable but we want to warn prospective buyers, there are some rust issues. It is missing the air cleaner assembly. Body rust issues, include; the right rear door bottom is pretty blown out. The right front door front corner has a small area that appears ready to bust out. The car is structurally quite good. The rocker boxes appear to have only minimal rust and almost no actual rust out. The door gaps are even and show no signs of the cars structure being or even starting to get weak at all. The front floor boards, near the rocker boxes have rust out and need replacing. The lower valance below the front bumper has some rust out and should be replaced. The well where the spare tire sits down in, is blown out and needs replacing. The rear floors although heavily surface rusted, are not patched or rotted through. The rubber floor inserts are dirty but intact and with the car. The door jams all appear to be fine. The seats are dirty but will probably clean up decently. The headliner is hanging down and pretty much shot. The door panels are dirty but will probably clean up. The car rolls easily and seems to steer fine. We hope that someone will feel sorry for this little 4 CV and opt to restore it rather then use it for parts. Either way, she needs to find a new home. Come and see it while the listing is up, if you can. We originally bought it just to have in case we needed spares for a 4 CV Jolly. The Jolly left a few years ago and too many other projects dictate that it is a wise time to part with this cool little French "people's car". VIN 3616299 Good Luck Bidding! Sold As-IS FOB - Lynchburg, Virginia. We encourage people to come and see this vehicle or to send their representative to look at it on their behalf. If the car is sold, or a deposit to purchase has been tendered, this auction will be ended prematurely. With special circumstances, with a substantial non-refundable deposit, we may consider giving the buyer extra time to come up with the total purchase price. This will only be considered for those who contact us in advance of the auction end and work out the details to a mutually acceptable agreement. In short, we want to sell the car, so if the buyer is reasonable we will do our best to make it easier to do business. Again, this sort of arrangement has to be worked out in advance of the auction ending. We will not accept any bids from anyone with less then 10 EBay transactions, and less then a 95% positive feedback rating.
