1972 GTO EXCELLENT CONDITION (Original owner’s manual and other papers) Very solid body Engine: 455 ci 280 hp, 8:2 compression, 1971 B series. (Original engine was 400 ci 250 hp) Custom paint Battleship Gray (fine metal flake) w/ off white pin striping. Painted in 1991 and garage kept until a few months ago, but I still keep it under the carport. New carpet. Head liner replaced several years ago and is in excellent condition. Remainder of interior is original except for steering wheel. 4 speed Munsey M-21 close ratio transmission. Depress clutch safety start. Holley 650 carb. 4 wheel disc brakes. Corvette Ralley Wheels. 12 bolt rear end. (Approx. 373 gear ratio) Added under dash air. Custom Judge fin added (not originally available on the ’72) I only drive this car on weekends. It is fun to drive, the suspension is in very good order, it handles well and it is geared well for driving around town. I bought it from an older fellow, who is also from North Carolina, who got into a monetary bind and had to let it go. Tires are in very good condition. (I have only lit them up once and that was on a hill and did not intend to.) There is one small dent on the hood on the driver's side. The body is in excellent shape no signs of rust or bubbles. It has good clean exhaust even when starting in cold weather. Apart from an exhaust system, there are only few minor things which could be done, like replacing the steering wheel w/ an original, etc., to make this one a tip top Classic. AIso, the socks which are on the gas, clutch and brake pedals and the pieces of leather which are on the rear floor board are only there to help keep them clean. It has good clean exhaust even when starting in cold weather.
