Vehicle Detail
Just what you need to get through any snow storm! This 1941 Dodge WC has been a two year labor of love for me, but I have to admit its time for me to let go and let someone else finish the job. I bought the truck out of California, it had almost zero rust on, but every part on the this has been either media blasted or dipped. The frame and the underside of the fenders and cab were painted with POR15. The body was in pretty good shape, but it still took quite a while to hammer the dents out. These old bodies really have think metal, not like today’s cars which seem like aluminum foil by comparison. The body is most stock, although I smoothed it out a bit by removing the badges from the hood, filling the seam in the roof, welding up all the holes in the bed sides, and removing the center stake pocket to give it a cleaner look. With exception of the engine, the drive train was complete when I got the truck, and I still have all the parts, and a engine in pieces that could be rebuilt. My thought was to retain the stock appearance, but put a modern engine in it. Currently a remanufactured Vortec 350 mated to a Turbo 400/NP 241 resides in the truck. As it sits right now, I would call it “dry fitted” It’s ready for the primer to be blocked, just to make sure it perfect, and have paint applied. After that is just a matter of deciding to restore it as original, or resto rod it, which had been my plan. I’ve just run out of time and resources to finish it, and figured I would let the next owner choose the path. Truck comes with a Pennsylvania Title, and is sitting on brand new tires I took pictures of the parts not yet installed on the truck. The windshield frame is in great shape, these are hard to find, and there was very little rust in this one, but I had it dipped just to get anything that was on the inside removed Brackets, pedals, a couple of alternators, a starter, the drive shafts, steering column and a rare original spare tire mount A almost perfect speedometer, and one set of good gauges, other set not so great Rebuilt vacuum wiper set, again, difficult to find Seat frame, transfer case, transmission and bell housing Engine, head, pistons, intake and exhaust manifolds, two carbs, one looks new/rebuilt Leather Cadillac seats, I was planning to use these, I like the fact that they have a integrated seat belt What’s missing that I know of…….. Window regulators, I have a box of parts, but, they aren’t in very good shape, you might be able to get them to work, but I would doubt it Windshield crank, you can buy these rebuilt for around $200 Windows, I have the original side windows, but they are only for pattern reference, no windshield, but I do have a new backglass Bumpers Please feel free to email me if you have questions or want me to take pictures of anything else Good luck bidding!
