Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1971 Honda CL175 Scrambler. This bike only has 5600 miles on it, and has just been professionally tuned up all the way around. New tires, new chain, valve adjustment, fresh rebuild on the carbs, the replaced tank has been cleaned (no rust) + brand new petcock (fuel on/off), new fuel lines, newer rear sprocket, new ignition switch, points cleaned and adjusted, new battery, new spark plugs and wires, + fresh oil change. All the lights and electronics work even electric starter! I have put 50/50 tires (half road/half street) on the bike because originally this bike was intended to be used on/off road. The front tire is brand new and the back tire in in excellent condition- soft rubber and no checking at all. There is some surface rust on the pipes and a small hole on the back side of the pipe as well (shown in picture, and doesn't affect the sound of the pipes at all). There is some surface rust through out the bike- but nothing too major. I replaced the tank due to some rust inside the original tank, and I will switch the tanks back out if requested. The replaced tank has some outer blemishes and small dents but nothing major, please see pictures. It is missing the original seat lock, and the seam on the back upper side of the seat has about a 2 inch separation in it (it has not ripped further since I have owned the bike). This bike will clean up well- a lot of the surface rust will come off with a wire brass brush and some elbow grease (or a drill). This bike sat under a well covered shed for close to 20 years and needs to be cleaned up. This bike does not smoke or burn any oil, not even a puff of smoke came out when it was first cranked up again. I've had much fun riding this bike on the street and through fields and the woods- but now I must make more space in the shop for a new project. This bike is very reliable + is ready to ride, it needs nothing mechanically at all. It has a clear NC title. *****Buyer is responsible for shipping, and I will help any way that I can. I will transport locally for $60 an hour (to a train or shipping yard). Or you can have a trucking service come right to my house to pick the bike up. I will even trailer the bike to a pre-agreed upon destination for $60 an hour both ways- or $120 an hour one way. I try to be very thorough with my pictures and descriptions, so please email with any questions before bidding. Happy bidding!!! *** $500 due within 24 hours of winning auction. Full payment due within 3 days of purchase or a agreed upon payment arrangement. Please don't bid or buy if you are not 100% sure you can pay for the motorcycle. I have gone through every effort to insure you a great running bike, and I expect a buyer to be upfront with me as well. *** International bidders please email your address for a shipping quote before auction is over. There will be an extra $60 an hour for any extra shipping arangements Thanks and happy bidding! On Dec-13-10 at 13:06:27 PST, seller added the following information: ****A fellow ebayer has contacted me to let me know that this bike is actually a 1972 not 1971. The vin plate say 12/1971 which I guess is classified as a 1972? Just wanted to pass this note along. Thanks!
