This is a project car or parts car. After I purchased this car in 2002, I got it running and registered in 2004. However, I discovered there was no reverse gear and so took it apart.... engine out, tranny off, rebuilt twice; back together, etc. Amongst all that, I moved twice and so had times where I spent quality time with my Healey, and then, not so much. After being unable to get the reverse to work myself, I took it to a transmission specialist, who rebuilt the transmission and got the reverse running. I figured while the engine was out, I would tear down the rest of the car and give it a good cleaning/rebuilding/painting all around. Bad idea. I have since run out of time, space, and energy for the project, and I don't see getting it back together myself. So, if you have a hankering to rebuild one of these, or have a need for a parts car, this may be yours. The engine is fine. Ran fine in '04. Had it on the highway to 60 mph. The transmission has been rebuilt. There is surface rust on the underside, and more serious rust around the fenders. I believe all areas are repairable, however this car will take some time to fix, if you plan to rebuild it. Small leak in the gas tank if filled to over 7 gals. Wheels are fine but need painting; tires were new in '04 but may have some small cracking now. I will be happy to provide more pictures or information, depending on what you need. I may be able to assist with loading this car for you and although the front wheels are not presently on, I can put them on to enable rolling away. The engine and transmission are not presently in the car and I will be unable to put them back in.
