Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1971 Honda CL175 Scrambler. This bike only has almost 5600 miles on it, and has just been professionally tuned up all the way around. New tires, new chain, valve adjustment, fresh rebuild on the carbs, the replaced tank has been cleaned (no rust) + brand new petcock (fuel on/off), new fuel lines, newer rear sprocket, new ignition switch, points cleaned and adjusted, new battery, new spark plugs and wires, + fresh oil change. All the lights and electronics work even electric starter! I have put 50/50 tires (half road/half street) on the bike because originally this bike was intended to be used on/off road. The front tire is brand new and the back tire in in excellent condition- soft rubber and no checking at all. There is some surface rust on the pipes and a small hole on the back side of the pipe as well (shown in picture, and doesn't affect the sound of the pipes at all). There is some surface rust through out the bike- but nothing too major. I replaced the tank due to some rust inside the original tank, and I will switch the tanks back out if requested. The replaced tank has some outer blemishes and small dents but nothing major, please see pictures. It is missing the original seat lock, and the seam on the back upper side of the seat has about a 2 inch separation in it (it has not ripped further since I have owned the bike). This bike will clean up well- a lot of the surface rust will come off with a wire brass brush and some elbow grease (or a drill). This bike sat under a well covered shed for close to 20 years and needs to be cleaned up. This bike does not smoke or burn any oil, not even a puff of smoke came out when it was first cranked up again. I've had much fun riding this bike on the street and through fields and the woods- but now I must make more space in the shop for a new project. This bike is very reliable + is ready to ride, it needs nothing mechanically at all. It has a clear NC title. Buyer is responsible for shipping, and I will help any way that I can- I will even trailer the bike for a agreed upon destination and fee. I try to be very thorough with my pictures and descriptions, so please email with any questions before bidding. Happy bidding!!!
