Vehicle Detail
Since there were 28 watchers last time and people have contacted me after the auction, saying they missed it, I'm relisting it. New pictures added! **Note: This is an automatic with Economy, Manual and Sport mode transmission. Ebay's template will only allow "Manual" in the check box for some reason.** Rare vehicle to find in this shape indeed! BMW's luxury flagship coupe at over $70K when new! WOW, what a treat to drive! The quality will be noticed as soon as you open/feel the heft of the door and sit inside! Carpets & headliner very clean, no rips or tears. No cracks on dashboard (pristine!). This is an amazing example of a 1991 BMW 850i V12 supercar! They don't make'm like this anymore! You will feel very safe driving this ultimate luxury machine! Most durable interior quality in the business too! Super smooth and shiny black paint with immaculate black leather interior (believe me, you will appreciate this color interior, if you've ever seen the gray or tan version!)! A car that actually gives you something back! The seats alone are a work of art and it only looks like the driver's seat was ever sat in! Seats are fully conditioned with the best leather conditioner, so they are pristine! Loaded with AT, Cruise control, Power seats, power steering wheel adjustment, PW, PDL, sunroof, heated seats (you won't know how you ever lived without these!), dual climate control, etc. Has 121K miles, but top end was rebuilt at 88K, so it runs and drives great! I haven't seen any leaks under where it's parked or interior leaks for that matter! A folder of extensive service records included. Vehicle was inspected prior to purchase and passed both California and Oregon emissions testing with flying colors! Has new brake master cylinder, power steering pump, heater valve, cooling system hoses/coolant, oil, front and rear brakes/rotors, recent Bridgestone Potenza tires, etc. Clean title, no accidents. No pets or smoking. Was a California car it's whole life (until recently), always garaged and pampered with no expense spared. Maintained by top mechanics like Dinan Engineering in the San Jose area. Went down to the Bay Area to find a convertible or Range Rover, but none worked out, due to condition misrepresentation (I'm very picky!) or prior sale. I needed immediate transportation and this was SOO nice, I just couldn't pass it up, so I bought it and drove it home (7 hour trip)! I was going to keep this around for a toy and buy a utility vehicle as well, but I'm having some financial problems right now (and being a single parent, my toys have to go first), so I will have to go down to one vehicle, which needs to be an 4wd (for snow) SUV to haul my bikes. Oregon plates good for two years. I believe it's all stock. Body is straight and very tight (I can't stand rattles and squeaks)! Paint is superb for the year! Interior is clean and immaculate! Transmission is smooth. She isn't perfect, but for the price, this is THE finest you will find, esp. for a 20 year old vehicle! **For full disclosure, there is no hesitation or power loss, but one lifter has a little sticky lifter ticking noise (I hear this is pretty common on these BIG V12 beasts), but the BMW Specialist mechanic here, said don't worry about it, since it drives fine and said just get the engine really hot and it should free it up (I have been going to them for years, so I trust them). It was that way when I bought it and I haven't had any problems with it (Previous owner had went to Europe and it had sat on the consignment lot for a month without being driven much and I only drive it about 4 miles a day to work and back). I drove it home from California, drive it everyday and it runs, drives, handles and looks great! Temp guage has never gone past half way, even on the trip home! It has some fading pixels on the computer display when turned on (common), CD changer shows disc error, which may just be dirty, one fog lamp lens cover is broken from a rock, rear view mirror ball joint is loose (mirror doesn't flop around though), a few chips and scratches, but for the age, it's exceptional, one door ding on the front passenger side that doesn't crack the paint, the fuel guage is tempermental and sometimes doesn't show how much fuel is remaining, but you can use the computer "Range" function to see how many miles remaining on the tank, so not really a big deal. Even with these issues, for the LOWERED price, it's a safe bet! Heater works great, A/C blows cold, headlights pop right up, sunroof works great, all four windows go up and down just fine, power door locks work great. No airbag or other lights on. No check engine lights have ever come on since I've had it. Has a full size spare tire. Comes with factory owner's manuals and two keys also. Note: I bought it from the second owner, so the Autocheck report is incorrect on it's estimation of owners. Some more descriptive details on recent maint: The oil was just changed three weeks ago, as well as the right turn signal dash lamp. The front and rear brakes/rotors, heater valve, Power steering pump and coolant expansion tank at 120, 603 miles by Dinan Engineering. Master brake cylinder at 120, 817. Brigdestone Potenza tires and alignment at 115,021 miles. Tire rotation at 119,908. Hydraulic brake booster and power steering pump at 106,383. These are just some of the records I have. Like I said, there was no expense spared in babying this car. She looks terrific, handles amazingly well and is a real pleasure to drive, especially in Sport mode....FAST! Gets lots of looks too! No dated looking woodgrain, so with some tint and maybe updated wheels, this baby looks like a modern design! A timeless classic and built to last for sure! Extremely rare to find one in this condition! Ride in style and class for seven grand! That is a WHOLE LOTTA car for the money!!! NADA value $11500! National average for these cars is around $15000! **Note: miles will be slightly higher.** Sure to be a collector! May trade for BMW X5 SUV, Range Rover or Volvo XC90 of similar value. I would have no hesitation driving it cross country, but if you would like to have it shipped, I have had shipping quotes as low as $750 to TX and $900 to MD, so I could help find you a deal if you want to have it transported. Feel free to have it checked out by Autocheckers or a local mechanic of your choice prior to bidding. Thanks for looking!
