Vehicle Detail

1930 Model A Ford Pickup Truck Up for sale is a 1930 Model A Ford. It is an open Pickup Truck with no top and still has the original flathead 4-cylinder engine, 3 speed non-synchronized gearbox with running gear and rear end. I have had this car for about 20 years and have had much fun with it driving my kids around, taking it on picnics as well as driving it in an occasional parade or two over the years. The truck still runs strong and is very fun to drive. However, after 20 or so years, it is time for someone else to enjoy it. I simply do not take it out of the garage anymore as I just do not have the time to drive and enjoy it. I am in the process of liquidating and selling most, if not all of my old cars. I just do not have the time to mess with them anymore. As you can see from the pictures, the Model A is red with black fenders. There is no top because the original top, doors and bed were so rusted that they were removed years ago and simply replaced with a wooden stake bed and wood sides that you just climb over to get in. The only body parts left over from what this vehicle was originally are the cowl, hood, fenders and running boards. Everything is steel. No fiberglass at all. The seats came out of a two-door sedan because the original seat was trashed also and would not fit anymore. The seats in the truck now have a few small tears and claw marks from my cats who liked to sleep on them. All of this stuff was done more than 15 years ago. You can leave the truck this way or put another body on it if that is your desire. Personally, I like it the way it is. The windshield glass does need to be replaced because the glass has started to seperate due to age. I also have the original black steel sunvisor which is not on the car right now and not pictured. It also goes with the sale. The engine is in very good shape and runs strong. The waterpump leaks a bit just like most Model A waterpumps do at the packing nut. I never put a sealed waterpump on this motor and basically just dealt with the ocassional leak by putting fresh packing in the nut and tightening it down with my packing nut tool. The transmission/gear box is the original 3-speed non-synchronized assembly it was born with. That goes for the rear end too. Everything works great!! The truck will easily do about 50-55 mph. All the lights work including running lights, brake lights, hi & lo beams. The original headlights were removed by me years ago and replaced with a set of sealed beam lights that work great. They definitely light up the road at night. I still have the original headlight buckets if the buyer wants them. The fuel guage and ammeter work good too. There is no speedometer cable installed so I really do not know if the speedometer works or not. I had never installed a speedo cable in all the years I have had this truck but the speedometer is not frozen and was put back to zero years ago. As for the mileage on this vehicle, unfortunately, I have no idea what the actual mileage is. The wheels on this truck are super and are actually 16 inch wire rims that came off a 1934 V8 Ford sedan. They are painted the same color red as the body of the truck. The original 19 inch rims were, in my opinion, useless for someone who wanted to drive the truck regularly. The 16 inch rims and tires greatly improve handling since they lower the vehicle closer to the road and the wider tire gives you better gripping power. The tires on the truck are a nice set of BF Goodrich Silvertowns, size 700x16, 6-ply rating. I do have an extra 16 inch wire rim that can go with the car if the buys wants it. However, the extra rim is not painted and there is no tire on it. The brake system on this car is still the original mechanical brake setup. The brakes work fine and stop the vehicle with no problem. The emergency brake works great too. The horn works good too but is not the original Model A horn. It came off of an old 30's model Packard and makes that great ah-ooh-gah sound. Currently, the 6 volt battery in the truck is dead and will not hold a charge anymore. I have to put my battery charger on it to start the truck. Once the vehicle starts, it stays running since the generator works fine and puts out plenty of power. You know these old 6 volt batteries go dead easily if they are not used and charged up regularly. This truck is being sold with a clear Florida title. I believe I have priced this Model A fairly for what it is. I will consider all reasonable offers. Please do not submit ridiculous offers like a thousand dollars because it will be automatically declined. It is a good strong running solid vehicle that still turns heads as it drives down the road. This vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is. I have tried to describe the vehicle as best as I can. Remember, this is not a show car but a car that was driven quite often and saw plenty of road dirt but still looks great! I would be happy to e-mail additional pictures to any seriously interested parties. The winning bidder must make all arrangements to have the vehicle shipped and delivered to its final destination. The seller is not responsible for the shipping of this vehicle. However, I will be happy to cooperate with the buyer and have the vehicle ready to be picked up by buyer's shipping agent.
