This no reserve auction is for a 1978 Fiat Spider 1800 convertible, which has only 85,093 miles on it. This vehicle is powered by a 1756cc 4 cylinder engine and 5-speed manual transmission. This sporty car drives excellent throughout all speeds with no drifting or shaking. Moreover, the engine does not knock, smoke or leak oil. Exteriorly, this car is in good condition with still some shine to its royal blue paint. There are a few scratches here and there by no dents or rusted area of the body panels (except for one ding on the rear deck lid…see photo). All glass is in good condition with no cracks. The chrome bumpers have some rust areas but show no damage. Interiorly, this vehicle is also in good/very good condition. There are no cuts or unstitched areas in any of the upholstery and the tan cloth seats look good. All gauges work (speedo, tach, water temp and clock), however, the clock glass is somewhat fogged. Additionally, all the lights, the cigarette light and the original radio work (missing the antennae mast). The dash board has a crack in it. The convertible top is well worn and will need to be replaced (about $189 on ebay for a top), however, the tonneau cover is in good shape. This vehicle has a relatively new Virginia state inspection, which is valid until 8/11. Additionally, the tires, which are mounted on alloy wheels have about 50-60% tread remaining. Included in the sale are one set of keys, floor mats, spare tire and jack and the owner’s manual. Overall, this is a solid example of a 1978 Fiat Spider, which runs great and would make a great winter restoration project (cosmetic only).
