Vehicle Detail

You're looking at and bidding on a beautiful unrestored, unmolested 1973 Honda CB750K2. This bike is titled and registered as a 73, with build date of 8/72. A true K2, as you'll notice in pics. As most know, this is the model that revolutionized motorcycling into what it is today. All but eliminating the competition,( starting in 69 w/ CB750k). I've had this bike around 4 years, with absolutly no problems or issues. Bullet Proof. Starts up easily, electric or kick 1st or 2nd try. This is a Strong runner, not babied but also not abused. I have run this bike hard at times, but it loves it. The color was new for the K2, Candy Gold Custom, paint code (LX). Paint is original, both tank, covers and frame. No repaint or brush-touch ups. All in great shape. It has character badges as you'll see in pics but not enough to warrant repaint, for this is a true daily rider, not a show bike. ( yet) . I live in east Tennessee, primarily ride the Smoky mountain areas, and always get great feedback on this bike. Especially at Deals Gap RT 129, or when the Honda Hoot was in town. Get ready to be questioned everywhere you ride, they love it. Anyway, I'll get to the points. As you see in pics, the only mods on the bike is the exhaust. Period correct 4 into 2 kerker crossovers. Not too loud and sound great. Back in the day, this was it. Handlebars, you may think apehangers from pics, but the bars are dealer installed option, 10" overs. Real comfortable upright riding position, with all wiring inside bars. They don't do that much today. Also with luggage rack with adjustable back rest, passenger or solo. This is a gotta have, hard to find option if you like long rides and want to carry extras. Bike has been exceedingly well maintained and cared for over the past 37 years. This is evident in the original good condition. Many updates as well. All new cables, dual throttle, clutch, speedo and tach and break line. Battery 6 mos w chain and front tire. New rear tire last week. Fresh oil and filter every 2k. I know there are other new items I've forgotten, I'll add later when I remember. Since I do mostly sweepers and curves, the tires I switched to are Dunlop 404s. I had new period correct sizes with the ribs but didn't hold the line or grip as I liked. Went up to 120/ 18 rear over the 3.50 110/18, better for the twisties. Chromed and polished engine side covers in good condition. Stand back 5 feet and this bike looks 2 years old. Get up supper close and you'll see some small stone chips on frame, gas tank and swingarm. Nothing really bad, just character. Can see most in undoctored pics. No rust with chrome fenders or wheels. Gas tank does have 2 rather small fresh dent-dings on rear side under stripes. I'm positive your local Dr. Ding can get them out without paintwork. These happened due to Knee Slaps. This occurs when the Soccer Mum on her cell phone pulls out in front of you and your azz puckers, knees slap, and you break hard, and you miss her. Jeezzits, that was close. Some discoloration on exhaust pipe from old battery or chemical, not too bad, could be refinished. cosmetic only. Another thing that I've been unable to figure out is blank/no engine numbers on case. I've been told differant things by various people who worked at dealers , but I'm still unable to prove exactly. The most credible story was that up to 1975, drive chain breakage and or slack chain, would smack on rear of case causing cracks. Then were recalled and new engines installed with stronger cases and or renforced. Who knows for sure ? Let me know if so. The best thing I can say about this bike is you will not be disapointed if you want a strong running good looking classic. You can ride this anywhere with confidence. No mechanical issues, oil burning or let downs. Fly into Knoxville, ride back to San Diego, no worries. Thanks for checking it out and good luck bidding. The terms. $300 deposit via pay pal. Balance within 10 days of sale in cash or check mailed, Bike released after check clears of course. I will hold the bike 30 days after sale if paid in full, in order to get transport. (your responsability). Clean title on hand. Any questions let me know. I'll try to keep off while in auction but cant promise. May put on a few more miles. Thanks Rob. ps. to Chicago guy, this is the bike you made offer on last summer. (damn lookout Dragon 129)Things change. reserve is half your offer. On Nov-23-10 at 18:52:01 PST, seller added the following information: Adding 2 more pics 11/23. Showing under seat, with shop manuel and original owners manual. Seat condition is good with no tears, splitting or rips. Still with passenger hold-safety strap. Side covers like new, no cracking or damage. On Nov-27-10 at 12:41:19 PST, seller added the following information: Getting several good questions on this bike. Scroll down below pics and you might find your answer. I try to keep up but plenty of distractions this weekend, as with everyone. Again, this is the one you'll be satisfied with. Ride with the s___ eatin grin.
