I am selling a very good condition, low milage solid 1955 Thunderbird. The car was professionally appraised at over $43,000.00. This car was parked in 1974 and not driven again until 2009. This is a rust free one owner California car. I am the second owner. The car is equiped with power steering, power windows, power brakes, power seat, fog lights and continental kit. The brakes, drums, brake cylinders and master cylinder are all new. The tires are new Cooker G-70 wide white walls. The hub caps are custom built wire caps with locks. When I received the car it had a top-dollar black paint scheme. The car was completley stripped to the bare metal and repainted its original color, white. The only rust we found was a few tiny pin holes in the drivers floor pan other wise the body is straight. Everything worked when I recieved the car but because of the many years it was not driven I replaced just about everything but the body. I installed a freshly rebuilt 1987 Mustang 5.0 (302) engine with fresh GT-40-P heads and brand new heavy duty 4 speed overdrive AOD transmission. The engine is equiped with an Edelbrock manifold and carb, Pertronix II distributer, 80 Amp alternator, new water, power steering and fuel pumps. The original radiator has been replaced with an extra duty all aluminum unit with electric cooling fan and shroud, the power window motors are new, I removed the up/down motor as I wanted the seat as low as possible. I installed '57 sunvisors and wind screens. The exhaust system, from the GT 40-P manifolds to the exhaust tips is brand new. The entire interior was replaced with all new everything. Seat foam, seat upholstery, drop curtain, door panels, kick panels, carpet and carpet under padding. The top was replaced with an aftermarket unit that affords 3" more headroom. I replaced the '55 dash and intrument panel with a '57 unit with new dash cover and new Stewart Warner "Green Line" gauges. All the electrical wiring (except the power windows and seats) front to back and under dash was repalced with all new harnesses. I replaced the original steering column with a Flaming River tilt column with 15" steering wheel to replace the 18" "bus driver" steering wheel.
