Vehicle Detail
Rare, Rare Toyota diesel. Once of the rares cars made in the US. You have to watch this!!!! Funy!!! go to Youtube and type in Toyota Hilux top gear then watch Mustang8867'schannel vershion of the show. even if you dont read my ad watch the video. I am going to start with the bad, then if you make it through that I will list the good. Then we will have a win, win when it comes to the sale of this very rare vehical. Know I have talked more than my fair share of people out of buying a vehical from me. I want you to know the bad so you can be happy with the truck. The bad.... this thing has a ton of rust on the bed. It is pretty much shot and needs a complet new bed. The front fenders and hood where new, but did not have any paint on them so I painted them so they would not rust out. the paint on the front fenders and hood looks like it was painted out side in a wind storm, because it was.... (at least it is protected now) The breaks work, but the power part of the breaks does not work so you have to push the pedal hard before anything happens. The pedal hold pressure so it is the power part of the breaks that is broken. Tires roll and I have driven it around town a bit, but it needs tires for daily use. Interior is not in good shape needs seats reapolstered and some major cleaning. head lights work, and tail lights and one side of the blinkers work other side blinkers does not. We use salt on the roads here in Utah so it has alot of surface rust on the frame and under it. The floor boards are solid and none of the mounts or major stuff is rusted through that I can see mostly just surface rust, but their is a lot of it. Lots of dings and pasanger door has a spot that needs to be fixed. No radio. It takes two or three times turning it over for it to fire up, may be some adjustment, I dont know these that well. Over all this needs alot of tinkering, or a full restoration. The truck does not have plates on it so it would need to be trailered home or you could get a temp tag from your locale dmv, However I suggest shipping it or trailering it. driver side rear shock is broken. Thoughs are the things I have noticed may be others.. After the viedo this is all a walk in the park right!!! Ok, congradulations you made it throught the BAD and now you get the GOOD!!!! The Good, after cranking two or three times the motor starts right up and it sounds good and blows no smoke. I don't know diesels at all, but two people that do, said it sounds great to them. I read on the internet that these did not have alot of power. This one seems to have good power to me, not much different that a 22re. It is way more torky and makes its power down low as expected from a diesel. It would be unstopable in the hills. The transmition and transfercase shift smooth, look clean and do not leak. Basicly the drive train is in good shape and make this vehical worth buying. The dash has the glow plug indicator light and seems to work. If I where to keep it I would put a different bed on it, maybe a flat bed and finish the paint on the front, fix breaks and lights and drive it to death. ( mabey like top gear, I would park it in the ocean and see if it still starts) It gets great gas milage. and will run forever. Plus you will have one of the rarest and coolest vehicals out there. It is great to pull up to a stop light and see peoples faces. The other day I pulled up to a stop sign and a guy in a cummins pulled up to me you should have seen his face, Priceless. Any way. Over all I think this is defienly worth someones time. It really would not take much to get it going as a daily driver, if you have some mechanical skill and time. Ask as many questions as you like I will do my best to answer them as fast as I can. Happy bidding. I am selling this for the owner, I specialize in finding rare vehicals and from time to time people come to me and ask if I will help them sell a vehical. As stated, I painted the fenders, hood and did a little work to get this truck running,( put a battery in it and bled the breaks and it started up and ran great) and now I am helping the owner sell it. This came from a small town in utah and the owner was not using it any more. He told me he converted this truck from a two wheel drive diesel truck. all the four wheel drive stuff works. The title says it is a gas truck. He had had it registered and used it . Check you local laws for registering convertions laws. The title is clear and signed off. The vehical is sold as is with no warrnty.
