Up for sale is a rare find. This is a 1984 Baur TC 323i. There is an unknown amount of these cars throughout the United States today. There were only 7 of them sold here and the rest have been imported. The motor is a straight 6 turbo charged 2.7L motor with a 5 speed transmission. The miledge of the car is unknown because the odometer is stuck at 45K miles. I don't think there is much more on it than that though judging by the overall condition of the car. I was told the clutch was upgraded at some point but I do not have any receipts. If you look at the pics below there is a receipt for $3120.54 for parts and labor on a new Go-Tech fuel management system amoung other things. You can actually sit inside the car with a laptop and tune it while you're driving. The computer software is included in the sale. (This was installed on 3/04/10). As far as I know there are only two problems with the car...I am not personally familiar with turbo cars but I was told the turbo is not spooling and needs to possibly be replaced or it may just be some type of vacuum leak? The other thing is the car needs to be tuned. The motor is running a bit rich but it runs pretty well other than that. The car is over 26 years old and looks like it has been garaged most of its life. There are a few small rust bubbles here and there but overall it is a solid body. The paint is in really shinny as well, and not too many dings and dents on the car for being as old as it is. I'm not sure, but it looks like it might be the original paint on the car. The coolest part about this car is the roof. The top section comes off and the back section folds back. It's kinda like a convertible but kinda like a hard top. The roof is in really good shape with no rips or tears. I drove this car about 30 miles from where I picked it up to my shop and not only does it drive great but I can't even tell you how many people were checking it out. It really is a cool little car. Finally the interior...Overall it is not in bad shape. There are several cracks on the dash board as well as a few on the top of the back seat. Other than that the seats are in pretty good shape and the rest of the interior as well. There was a hole cut into the passenger side floor to access the turbo. (seen in the pics). That could easily be patched and I could if repair it if you would like? If you would like to see this car in person please call me and we can arrange a meeting.
