Vehicle Detail
1997 PLYMOUTH GRAND VOYAGER VAN This van is perfect for the mechanic or shade tree mechanic who needs a family transportation vehicle. It has an engine problem and will cost 1200-1500.00 to fix if you are a non mechanic. A mechanic or vehicle service provider can fix the "heads" problem (water gasket) for a much cheaper price than the retail price I quoted. I bought this van knowing of the heads problem a few weeks ago. My intention was to replace the entire motor. I found several 3.3 V6 Chrysler motors with 70-75,000 miles on them at local yards for 5-600.00 with a warranty. I was going to have a local friend mechanic replace the engine for 400.00. That was going to be fine as I know that the radiator was replaced with a re-built 6 months ago along with a new water pump. My friend is snowed under with work and can't get on it for 4 months. I've decided to sell it. Let me give you a good description as to what I know about the truck. The body is in good condition especially for the age. A couple of small dents that are not major. The interior is excellent. Seats, carpet and interior surroundings are in real good shape. That's why I thought it would be an excellent family wagon. It's fully loaded with power windows and locks- Cruise and tilt and a (weak) 3.3 LTR. V6 engine. It also has dual factory air conditioning that will drive you out of it with cold. Both a/c's do work good. The truck starts and runs --but poorly. I wouldn't drive it far due to the engine problems. The transmission seems fine. I do not know any history on the transmission. The tires are fairly new with about 8,000 miles of use on them. The truck has 181,000 original miles of use-- another reason to consider another engine. If you're considering bidding on this truck you need to plan on a towing fee unless you live nearby in north Tampa. That's what I know about the van. For the right person- this can be an excellent family vehicle. If you’re a used car dealer, used car wholesaler or someone who buys with an automotive tax exempt number please go to the next ad and haunt that person. These guys all think they can steal an older cheaper vehicle from you. They think everyone is "desperate " to sell their vehicles. Happy Bidding
