1973 MERCEDES BENZ280 SE 4.5L W/FLOOR SHIFTI am selling my 1973 Mercedes 280se with no reserve. I bought this car as a project, to drive, while I was fixing it up, but my son brought home a project too. My wife is going to kill us both if something does not leave the driveway soon. He does not have to sleep in the same bed with her, so my project is going to go first. The car is registered and drives and shifts smooth. This car starts right up every time and is surprisingly fast for a 1973 4720lb vehicle. The car smokes and probably needs rings (my best guess). The drivers side rear door seems to be stuck. The A/C compressor is frozen (stuck) and the drivers side window does not roll up with the switch. I can hear the regulator moving and feel it go past the window so I assume whatever attaches the window to the regulator has come off. I just spent $300.00 and new brakes and rotors and have the receipt. The brakes stop the car perfect with no pulling to either side. The tires are in fair condition and the vehicle will cruise down the freeway at 80 mph with no problem other than smoke. I just used it to go to a party, about 40 miles away, on Halloween.
