Vehicle Detail
This is a no reserve auction. I bought this 1999 Subaru Forester from my sister last winter with 150,000 miles, she bought it from the original owner in CT who had it serviced at the Subaru dealer since new.I have driven it about 30,000 miles mostly highway miles back and forth to NH to see my kids twice a month and has been very reliable. I just bought a new KIA and no longer need this car. The Good : The engine starts and runs very smooth and powerful and does not use oil. I have recently replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, both air filters, O2 sensor and exhaust flex pipe. I replaced all four tires with nice Continental tires about 10,000 miles ago.I have also added a 6-CD player. Some other nice features that come in the "S" model are: cruise control, heated seats, heated mirrors, alloy wheels, power locks, power windows, & roof rack. Overall the car is in fair condition for it's age and mileage. The Bad : The windshield is cracked and will need to be replaced, there is some rust on the right rear quarter pane can be seen in photos , there is some light damage to to the left & right front fenders and bumper and be seen in photos, miscellaneous other dings and dents normal for a 11 year old car with 180K miles on it. The interior is in overall good condition other than a small burn hole in the passenger side seat back. The check engine light came on recently. I believe it is something minor as the car runs nice. Perhaps the gas cap seal. The ABS light comes on occasionally also. I think this is due to a dirty wheel speed sensor. Can probably be fixed with a good cleaning. I can't think of anything else wrong with this Forester right now, I will add anything additional if I think of it. Please call with any questions before bidding. On Nov-16-10 at 15:10:17 PST, seller added the following information: I just read the OBD II fault code. It has one fault- PO440. I cleared the fault and the engine light turned off. I re-read the OBD and the fault was gone. I then googled the coded and it says that it could be the gas cap seal or is related to the gas tank ventalation system. Perhaps a vacuum hose. I have not yet looked any further for the source of the fault.
