Vehicle Detail
RELISTED DUE TO A NON-PAYING BIDDER. C'MON FOLKS- A WINNING BID, A FEW HOURS LABOR, AND A PITTANCE IN PARTS WILL GET YOU A DRIVEABLE FUN LITTLE MACHINE. DESCRIPTION: Second owner. Acquired at 42,000 mi from purchaser. Both non-smokers without pets. White with Grey interior, paint so-so, looks pretty good cleaned up. 162,XXX mi. on orig. well cared for motor. Slick50 treated w/ oil changes every 5k mi with mobil 1 since new. The good: newish tires (maybe 5-6000 mi on them), brakes (calipers, rotors, pads), and exhaust. New ignition switch, newish mass airflow meter, new plug wires and plugs, cap, and rotor and some other stuff Power mirrors, sunroof- all working, no leaks KYB struts about 70k mi. ago, still good spare e-brake cables (2 of 3), service manual and misc. other spare parts. motor runs strong and car is quite fun to drive gets around 30 mpg even when flogged just passed emissions. The bad: some rust visible on right rear wheel arch. Floor pan at jack well rusted through- patched w/ fiberglass rotten brake trunk line to rear- will need repair or replacement before car will be driveable synchro into 2nd sometimes glitchy on sloppy fast shifts- never refuses the gear though. steering rack / tie rods / bushings may need some attention- steering has too much free play- about half an inch in steering wheel movement-.more of an irritation than a driveability issue. Small intermittent coolant leak- have no idea where its coming from- no puddles, only notice occasional steam on cold, wet days valve cover seeps a little oil as well. Gasket can be changed in like 20 minutes and costs around $20, again, no puddles AC not working- requires R134 conversion- Kit will come with car.but, really do you need a/c in a $350 car? headlights have cataracts, that is they're severely yellowed, but should polish up clear interior has some wear and tear (little bit worn through on drivers seat bolster) hatch struts need replacement. needs a good cleaning due for a timing belt at 180,000 mi. I thinks thats about it- sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS. I dont feel like fixing it anymore and I need the space Has been continually registered since new. MD inspection may take a little work to achieve- the good news is parts are cheap and easy to find since it shares many parts with mazda 323 / protege. Also might make a good project- rally, autocross or SCCA production racer. email me direct at bikrsk8r(at)gmail.com.
