You are bidding on a well maintained 2000 BMW 328CI which needs virtually nothing. Great performance and economy. Nothing beats BMW for handling and braking enhanced by the modifications I made. On top of that the car consistently gets > 31 mpg highway! Most the miles on this car are highway miles. It’s all about the maintenance and I have been systematically going through this car replacing and upgrading components as needed. There are many 1000’s of $$ in M3 upgrades. I did not have intentions of selling this vehicle but my personal situation has changed allowing you to get a great car at a fraction of the cost of just the upgrades I have made. I have owned this car for over 4 years and I have always used Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil changed at 5k mile intervals or less. The car does not burn oil nor does it have any emissions problems. The car always passes the very stringent NJ auto emissions testing. Options: All options and accessories are working as they should. ABS, Traction control, AC (blows cold new compressor), door locks, alarm, power windows, radio, 6 cassette CD changer in trunk, cruise control, power heated seats (great in winter). The car is pre- wired for cirus xm radio, The sun roof tilts and retracts. Rear defogger and front windshield washer all function as they should. First of the modifications made was to address the fact that many 3 series E36 and E46 series cars are subject to sub frame weakness / damage so before beginning modifications I professionally installed a turner M3 reinforcing plate kit with a new bushing. $3,500! (http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/performanceparts/BMW/M3/Body/Subframe_Reinforcement_Plates). As you shop for a car look for this important modification. There has been a class action lawsuit against BMW for this design flaw present on the 3 series ( google sub-frame failure to find out more), numerous cars have had issues which BMW did not fully stand behind. This car is fully retro fitted before complete failure would occur !! Next I installed a free flow Dinan exhaust and an Injen cold air induction system with reusable serviceable air filter. For Brakes I have, as pictured, newly installed (less than 5K miles) slotted and drilled rotors with ceramic pads +$1000. Tires are new Eagle GT radials 225 / 50’s (picture was taken before tires were put on) +$800. The front end was rebuilt and aligned using new M3 control arm bushings. Competition short throw shifter is also installed (old longer throw shifter is also available should you want it). Other maintenance : Many of the common problems and wear out items that these models will experience I have serviced. New drivers door lock actuator and newly repaired GCM (general control module+$700 ) was installed. When this unit fails door locks wipers etc. stop functioning or function sporatically, you have a fully refurbished unit. New Air condition compressor +$1500 (AC blows very cold), New radiator fan and control module +$500 item, Recently replaced coolant surge tank and coolant thermostat and housing. Replaced serpentine belt, New Zenon lights +$200. Battery is good. This 5 speed shifts very smoothly, the engine is one of the smoothes most powerful in line 6’s I have ever owned. The clutch is in good shape, engages smoothly and low with no problems. The front end is tight and responsive, I have had this car at well over 110 MPH and it is rock solid, Handling is fantastic with the M3 upgrades. The interior is clean and free of rips or tears, the carpets are good as pictured. The paint is in generally good condition with good gloss. What doesn’t show in the picture is that there is the normal amount of tiny stone chips in the front end from highway use and the right front fender has some crack or crazing of the paint in front of the wheel well. The only other item which could be replaced is the passanger airbag seat sensor on ebay for $19 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-AIRBAG-SEAT-MAT-OCCUPANCY-SENSOR-MODULE-E46-). This car was well taken care of and is reliable and good to go without doing anything. Although it is sold as is it should pass NJ or any other state's emission and safety inspection without doing a thing. Please compare the maintainence and modifications made to this coupe vs others. Then provide a serious bid. I cannot give the car away but I dont expect to get everything I invested in it back either. Also please ignore the date on the pictures, the camera's time stamp was not correct and I didn't notice it. you will see the car has a valid NJ 2010 inspection sticer in the window picture Also, this car is equiped with the optional higher end Harman Kardon 10 speaker audio system which works great once the door tweeters (which commonly go bad)were repaired. Great base from the rear subwoofer. The reserve is set below private party value from KBB and NDA for this vehicle, considerate of: condition, milage and year. Its a good value based on others that actually sell on ebay or autotrader etc. Please note the milage may be slightly higher than listed depending on when the car sells as it is still in use as my daily driver.
