1996 Dodge Caravan--double sliding door Sport model This van has the 3 liter Mitsubishi motor, yes it has a timing belt and yes, it has been changed along with water pump, valve cover gaskets, radiator flush, etc. I've had several of these vans and prefer this motor, especially over the 3.8 which was a gas hog and had more service issues. I think '96 was the first year for the double sliding side doors and not all models had them. This would be a great work vehicle (if anybody actually had a job out there, eh?)This car has been driven by my good friend Tom the Honest Mechanic's wife. It's getting a little rough around the edges, but the car is solid up the middle with a lot of life left. He's done the mechanic's-car stuff that usually doesn't get done on older vehicles making this one very tidy under the hood: -replaced leaking valve cover gasket-new timing belt-new serp belt-new water pump-hoses, filters etc. -religious 3-k oil changes-good rubber-new battery-good brakes all 4 corners-starts, runs and brakes normally-issue-free transmission was flushed, filter changed, fluid looked good-major tune up--plug, cap, rotor, wires-No check engine lights-Current Ohio e-check-Not burning, smoking or leaking oil or any fluids-Decent factory sound system-Good working cruise control Cosmetics Showing some rust around fender wells and rocker areas but unibody is still pretty solid underneath. No major dings or dents, still presents pretty well from 50' anyway. Interior stops short of hospital-clean-room status, but is in decent, smoke-free shape. Could use a good detailing and carpet shampoo but no rips, tears or holes. Driving comments Runs out fine including freeway blasting with cruise control working nicely. Steering is neutral, no pull or vibrations, tires are wearing evenly, braking is smooth and progressive. A/C is not working. Anyway more than you might expect for under 2k. I am not a dealer--I just sell cars mostly for friends and family. So I don't give you 'free' big screen TV's, trips to Vegas, scotchguard or paint protectant. Just the title and the car and thank you for the business. O, yeah, I make it a point to describe and price vehicles fairly. Check my feedback.
