1961 Ford Thunderbird has been garage kept most of it's life. Red car with white top / trim on hood. Care has been taken to keep it as original as possible. Someone with more car knowledge told us it has had some minor body work done on the left rear quarter panel and the trunk. There is some sun damage to the drivers seat (see pic) and some minor pitting of the chrome on the dash. We tried to take pictures of EVERYTHING, and you can see for yourself what is there. Car is in very nice condition. Odometer stopped working and car has actual 100,000 miles on it. Car was driven daily until last November, then was started weekly until May, at which time no one was here to start it for several weeks. It currently will not start - may have dead battery, be out of gas, or ? - I am not a mechanic from this era. I have tried jump starting it, but it sounds like it has a bad starter, but then someone told me it doesn't have a starter, they had some other way to start back then. I have dropped the price drastically because our situation requires we need to sell it ASAP, and I realize it will need to be either started or trailered out of here. Clear AZ title. Must sell as we have no where to garage it. NO RESERVE. We had several questions last time we listed this, and we were not able to answer all the questions in time. So briefly - the car has been driven locally, not more than 40 miles or so at a time, I do not know that I would embark on a cross country trip in it before having everything checked. It has the factory air installed but there is no compressor - I was told this is probably because it uses the old freon and not the new R12 coolant and to keep it original you would have to find the old type compressor. We were told the NADA value on the car is $13,000. We know the economy is bad, which is a major reason for us selling it and selling it below value. We would love to see it go to someone who has the time and the place to fix the small issues with it and keep it in good condition for another 40 years. While we enjoy looking it at it and appreciate the craftsmanship, we do not have the time, funds, or knowledge to start on this kind of project.
