Vehicle Detail
1977 Toyoda FJ40, Tons of time and money have been put into this restoration!!! Relisted due to high bidder not following through with commitment. Please read full ad before bidding on this nice cruzier!!!! I have been restoring this FJ40 for 3 months now. I have put allot of time, money and energy into this truck. I think it looks great and would make a good off road rig or daily driver. It has a new paint Job, 4 inch lift. It has warn hubs, and after market gages for the oil and temp and alternate. It had s new carb, and a header coming off the motor for the exhaust . The motor has been rebuilt at some point, I have had six of these and this one really gets up and goes. I do not know how long ago the motor was rebuilt or what was done. It also has a family new muffler. It has disk breaks in the front and the four speed tranny. It has a full roll cage, comes with the rear doors (not installed) and a nice rear seat, and a bikini top. Has the 6 cylinder motor, these motors are like a tractor motor they run for ever. Their is a reason they can drove accross Aftrica. It starts eaily and stops good, shifts through all the gears smooth. This needs a few minor things but the major work is done, with a little tinkering this can be your dream FJ. Like they say you can buy a jeep and spend 50 thousand building it, or you can buy a Toyoda Land cruizer and just drive it. When I got the Cruzier it had allot of rust in the wheel wells and under the doors. I cut and ground out all the major rust and treated the remaning Metal with POR 15 ( if you are not familiar with this product look it up at www.por15.com ) This product is expensive but worth it. any where you put it, will never rust again. I then used fiberglass on the front of the FJ 40 only a few spots on the fenders. and in the rear I used diamond plate and panel bonder on the sides and inside on the fenderwells to cover the holes that where left. I think it looks great and it will not rust out. The rear floor was good exept for the very back and a metal replacement peice was welded in ( See pictures) I think it turned out great. The paint is oil based it is also stops rust. I have used it on several 4x4s and like it because it is tough and it looks better than a bed liner looks. It looks great from ten feet good from five, and ok from closer. I want to be carful to let bidders know this is not a show quality paint job it was meant for a driver and the hills. I think it looks good but you will not be happy if you are looking for a really nice paint job. Look at all the pictures close and ask as many questions as you like. I strive to discribe my vehicals in as much detail and honestly so that you know what you are getting. A happy buyer makes a happy seller. Last time a listed the land cruzier the carb needed some tuning, I replaced the carb with a new one and it runs much better now. NO dead spot and has plenty of power. winning bider gets the old Holly carb that was replaced, I would through the Holly in the garbage if it where me, I hate Hollys never have had much luck with them but it is yours to do what you want with. It leaks no major oil, infact I have seen no oil leak on the ground in the four months I have had it. Things that it needs, it needs the drivers seat redone. it needs some foam work on the bottom seat and covered. Also the blinkers need some work, just a bulb in the back and some wires pinched in the front as they worked when I bought it. The rear doors need holes drilled for two of the hinges, and the rear seat needs to be put back in. The top needs to be bolted down and I will do this for the winning bidder if it is going on a transport. This is all that I know the vehical needs. How ever remeber it is a 33 year old vehical and you are buying it as is,it may need things I am not aware of. A good tune up including a valve adjust ment would be a good Idea. I feel this cruzier could be worth allot of money with a little more TLC. A guy down the street has one that is in primer and his body mounts are rusted out, he put a new motor in it and is asking 15,000.00 This sold last time for 3800.00 The guy down the street is crazy on his asking price, but still I think some one could make good money on this or get a ton of use out of it and have fun. Good luck and happy bidding. No reserve so winner takes this home !!!!!!!! Title is signed off and ready for the new owner. I own and run a car shop so if the winning bidder wants me to put the title in my shop name then transfer to them it will be 250.00 dallors over the winning bid, and the winning bidder will have to pay 40 dallors for IM and state Inspection if it is sold in Utah other wise the IM and Inspection do not need to be done. I would just asume turn the title over to the new owner how it is now and not have to charge them the extra fees, but I will leave it up to the winning bidder.
