Vehicle Detail

1959 Buick Invicta Convertible Black Exterior, Black top and Red interior. The Buick Invicta was powered by Buick's big-block 401 cubic-inch V8 engine which gave the car the nickname 'banker's hotrod.' Car has been repainted and shows very well, Stainless and Chrome shine well too. Interior is mostly original - Carpet has been redone as well as the top boot. The body on the car is solid, small amout of rust in the back of the rocker panel undersides. Car sits on radila tires and drives well. The car just had new points condensor and coil put in, the completions of a full tune is recommended. The car is laoded with options: Air Conditioning, Power Windows, Power steering, Power Vent windows, Power seat, Power antenna, Autronic Eye, Wonder bar radio, portable radio in the glove box. A/C and Radio need to be serviced. This car was originally purchsed by Mrs Cornelia B Dumont. She ordered the car on March 13 1959 from Russell B. Case and Son Buick in Manasquan New Jersey. original order form included. A similar 59 Invicta Convertible recently sold at a Barrett Jackson Auction for $78,100 - http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=359.1&aid=343&pop=1 The car has about 79,000 miles on it and it gets tons of attention where ever it goes. This car was recently featured in the "Buick Bugle", October 2009 Issue on page 14. Many NOS and extra parts come with the car - look at the pictures. lots of Paper and memrobilia come with the car - Look at the pictures. This car comes with a custom made fiberglass tonneau covers that if choosen to use covers the back seat and makes the car into a two seater similar to the old Thuderbirds. See photos. I have posted photos of the car on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/36555173@N04/sets/72157625227602448/ Potential Fun Fact - The widow of the most recent owner and the Bugle write up this car was order by the Dumont TV station as a gift for Jackie Gleason as an enticement to comback to Channel 5 in New york. I do have the orignal order slip with the Dumont name on it and the Bugle article. The prior owner had a bunch of stuff picture made of Jackie Gleason that he used when he showed the car which are all included in the auction. I have not other documentation on this subject. I encourage you to come and look at the car, also E-mail me if you have ask questions. No deadbeats - Please do not bid if you do not have feedback of at least 10. The car is being sold As-is. The car is located in New York and has a Florida Title. The buyer is responsible for shipping expenses.
