Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (“P71” CVPI) and it is one of the nicest Interceptors you will find anywhere as you can clearly see in the photos. I purchased this directly from the auction about 1 1/2 years ago and have enjoyed the benefits these cars have to offer ever since. Everything on these cars is “Heavy Duty”, from the radiator to the suspension and they are built to withstand the sometimes harsh punishment they may get through the service of law enforcement. This particular vehicle was clearly a detectives car, evident by the lack of a light bar having ever been attached, no mounting hardware or holes where a cage would have been installed, the full carpeting and of course, the color. Not to mention the female detective’s business cards I found in the trunk when I first got it. It was obvious to me when I purchased this that it had not suffered the strenuous treatment of a patrol unit: The door panels are still intact, not broken and screwed back together. The driver’s seat is in excellent original condition with no holes or wear marks. This car is straight, it has a clean car fax history, everything works from the spotlight to the A/C. Both the interior and the exterior are in excellent condition, it runs excellent, the suspension is firm and the ride is smooth. This car is durable, reliable and has many more miles left to deliver. At 117,000 miles, this is very low mileage for the model year, which is probably why it was not rotated out of service sooner. I have put on new brakes (4-wheel disc), new front and rear shocks, upper ball joints on both sides, 80,000 mile Kumo tires, wheel alignment and other general services immediately after I purchased the vehicle to ensure that it was in top condition. The time has come to make room for a new car for the Mrs. and the CVPI drew the short straw. This will make someone an excellent vehicle, it needs nothing other than a new driver. Features/Options: Heavy Duty Police Package - 4.6L V8 - Automatic Transmission w/Overdrive (AOD) - Traction Control - AM/FM Stereo Tilt - Cruise - A/C - Power Windows - Power Brakes - Power Locks - Full Gauges - Full Carpeting Including Trunk Remote Trunk Release - Newer Tires, Brakes, Shocks, Ball Joints, Alignment - Full Size Spare. This car is entirely original with no signs of repainting or interior repair at all. As I mentioned earlier, it has a clean CarFax report reflecting no accidents. Email me and I will be happy to provide you with the VIN to check for yourself. There are a few small dings in the paint, such as where it was scratched on the back bumper from what appears to be the scraping of the garage door when it wasn’t pulled in quite far enough. These have been touched up, but as you can see in the photo there are a couple of lines that remain as a thin “groove” along the bumper. When you look down the sides of the car there are no dents or waves (see photos). There are small rock chips in the front bumper from normal driving. There are three “plugs” in the car where antennae equipment was removed: Antennae on the trunk, Antennae on the roof and the GPS unit from the roof as well. The roof bares a small indentation where the GPS unit was - which appears as a small dent over the passenger side of the roof. This indentation is not large but it is noticeable if you look closely. These are pretty clean areas and because of the color, are far less noticeable than the standard white patrol vehicle. The interior is in excellent condition with the following exceptions: Some small wear holes in the carpet on the driver’s side which is covered by the floor mat (see photo). There are four holes in the center carpeting between the seats where the radio/computer equipment rack was placed (these didn’t show when I tried to photograph them). While they aren’t overly noticeable, they are there when you look closely. The seats are firm and show very little wear on the driver’s side, no holes, tears or thin spots and the foam is still good in the seat (a very rare condition on these cars). Passenger seat and back seat are like new. The headliner is in tact and not sagging anywhere, though there is wear near the area where the under-cover lights were mounted near the rear view mirror and the interior flood light. The dash is perfect with no wear or cracks, most likely because of the dashmat which appears to have been installed from early on. Unfortunately, the pictures of the interior just don’t do it justice. I tried with and without flash and still got a lot of reflections and improper color. While the photographs are there for you to see, know that any variations in color and such is simply due to the camera not being able to capture it all under the same light. If you have any questions about the car, you can reach me through email as well. I work nights and sleep days, so be patient. I will respond, but it may be at 2:00 AM when I do. Those who are interested and live in the Phoenix, AZ are are welcome to look at the vehicle prior to bidding. Please make contact with me to set a place and time. It’s difficult for me to ascertain the true value of this car because they can’t be looked up through Kelly Blue Book. Prices are really all over the place on these and it seems the nicer the condition and the lower the miles the more these bring. Of all the other CVPI’s I’ve seen, both in person and on the internet, I can honestly say that this is an exceptionally nice one, I’ve not seen one yet that is as nice or well taken care of. If you’ve been looking for one that is truly in good shape and has been properly maintained, then this is the one you’re looking for. Now, it is used and I’m not going to tell you it’s flawless. However, for the age and mileage I question if one could be found as nice. No hype, just the truth. So I’ve set a “Buy It Now” price at $4,500 and the reserve at a more than fair figure as well. At $4,500 it’s a great bargain since these can be found with over 250,000+ miles on them which simply speaks of the durability of this car. Good luck with your bids, this will make someone a very nice car. Thanks for looking and for bidding. Terms & Conditions of Bid/Sale Please understand that you are bidding on a used vehicle that is being sold “AS IS/WHERE IS” unless otherwise noted within this posting. This vehicle has no warranty, either expressed or implied, of any kind. While I have done my best to describe and photograph this vehicle, understand that not every blemish can be identified in a photo or within the description. Every effort has been made to digitally capture the true likeness of this vehicle so as to accurately represent it’s condition. However, photographs can sometimes reflect something that isn’t on the car or fail to show something that could be visible to the naked eye. I have identified any area in need of repair or what I would consider to be of concern within the advertisement. This is a used vehicle and as such, it has been driven and you should expect it to have minor blemishes and/or flaws. I take great pride in my perfect feedback here on eBay and I take both the items I sell and the auction where they are sold very seriously. Understand that by bidding on this vehicle, you are entering into a binding contract. Remember, you are bidding to win not to look and decide later. Please read the posting closely and understand these terms before bidding. If you have any questions, please ask BEFORE bidding. I am listing this for my uncle who can be contacted directly at davidbeck9@cox.net. Please direct any/all questions about the car to him directly. DO NOT use the “contact seller” button, please, as this will be directed to me and I will then have to forward it over to my uncle. Since he is the owner of the vehicle and wrote the descriptions, direct contact with him will serve better to answer any questions you may have. Should you fail to meet the terms described here and within those outlined by eBay, you will forfeit all deposit monies and receive negative feedback from me on your eBay history. When the vehicle is listed again, future bids by you will be considered void and subsequently will be deleted. If you are new to eBay, have a rating of less than 10 positive feedbacks or you have recent negative feedback, you MUST call me before bidding. This is to protect both you and I as well other bidders who have a sincere and legitimate interest in the vehicle. If you do not follow these directions I reserve the right to cancel your bid, and I will do so. I take this position so as to preserve the integrity of the auction process and the legitimacy of other bidders. Understand that it is my intent to sell this vehicle. Therefore, this vehicle may also be advertised locally and on other venues and may subsequently be sold before the eBay reserve is met. I reserve the right to cancel this advertisement and the auction of this vehicle at any time prior to the auction time expiration for any reason(s) and without notice. If you have a serious interest in this vehicle, please call me immediately to discuss potential options for the purchase of this vehicle or you may use the “Buy It Now” feature if it is still active for this item. Winning bidder is required to send me an email upon successful bid and leave a $300 deposit via pay-pal within 24 hours of winning the auction. Full payment is due within 7 days in the form of a bank certified check or cashier’s check, no exceptions. I cannot accept personal checks, credit or debit cards. All bank checks will need to clear my bank before the vehicle will be released to you. Cash is always acceptable at time of pick up and I encourage this form of payment. I ask that you please provide me with 48 hours notice on all cash arrangements. This vehicle will be available for pick up at the close of the auction. Should you decide to fly in and drive your the vehicle home, I will be happy to pick you up from the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and take you to the vehicle so long as you give me 48 hours notice. If you decide to use a transportation company to ship your vehicle, I will gladly work with them to coordinate it’s pick up. However, any and all expenses involved in the transportation of the vehicle are the buyer’s sole responsibility. Again, the car must be paid in full within 7 days of the auction closing and before leaving my possession. Any bank or cashier checks must clear my bank before the car is released. On Oct-22-10 at 13:37:35 PDT, seller added the following information: You are bidding on a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (“P71” CVPI) and it is one of the nicest Interceptors you will find anywhere as you can clearly see in the photos.
