THIS CAR HAS TO GO AS I TRAVEL FOR WORK AND I AM LEAVING IN ONE WEEK FOR 2 WEEKS AND EITHER SHE GOES INTO STORAGE OR GETS SOLD SO I HAVE MARKED DOWN TO A CRAZY PRICE! THIS IS A STEAL FOR SOMEONE! Beautiful 450SL I do not know anything about the 450's but this is a car I am selling for an elderly gent who is terminally ill and in his mid 80's and does not want to deal with it. NO RESERVE! A friend of mine who is a very good Mercedes Mechanic dropped by this afternoon after we were flying he looked at the car, mechanically and its body he said it was very, very nice he also mentioned it needed timing tensioners, front brakes, air condiontion service, He felt it was a great buy for someone and encouraged me to buy it. I do not need it! He felt someone was going to get a great deal!. He said it is a very nice solid car! that has obviously been gargaged and covered it entire life. He liked it! Price is cheap, I need to get the car out of my garage,it is taking up my cars space! 1979 Mercedes SL very pretty cream yellow, Nice seats a little wear showing on the drivers side. No cracking in dash or dash accessories Does not appear to have any issues body is clean and straight drove it home over 90 miles and she tracks nice and seems to run down the freeway just fine. No body issues and does not appear to have any previous body damage anywhere or any history of anything. The trunk lid was repainted in laquer from something he dropped in his garage on it, the paint on trunk lid looks fine with minimal cracking on trunk lid only. Body paint appears to be very original and in excellent shape for its age. The brown pinstripe needs to be repainted for the years of buffing have worn through in some areas but still looks very good, upgraded radio,lights all work and instrument panel is illuminated nicely. I think someone is going to have a nice car for a very reasonable price as these appear to be sought after in the SL world. This beauty has had recent service of oil and transmission. This gentleman purchased this car in 1995 with 126750 miles from the original owner and the car only has been driven 30,000 miles in the past 15 years! He could not locate his file on the car and was not well enough to find it.
