Vehicle Detail

1967 Mustang 289, C4 Auto trans. 56K original miles. Original black plate and dealer frame. This car was bought new at Geary Ford in San Francisco and lived in the City it whole life and was parked in the garage beneath his apartment building. It was last registered in the '80s. He died over 10 years ago without a will and without any heirs. All of his property went to the County of San Francisco for disposal. The car sat in storage with the City for over 10 years until around a year ago when probate was settled and the car was sold at a local auction. I bought the car to restore for one of my kids and now they have decided they do not want it. When I got the car all of the hoses and belts were decayed, the gas tank had 1/4 inch of varnishy goo at the bottom from the gas evaporating and it still had the original wheels with bias-plied tires on them. So far I have replaced the following: Gas tank, fuel gauge sender, fuel pump, the rubber parts of the fuel lines, all the hoses and belts, cap, rotor, plugs, etc., fuel filter, changed the oil and trans fluid, oil pressure gauge sender, etc. I also put on the set of GT wheels now on the car. The car starts, runs and drives. I haven't driven it very far due to it not being registered. I started to disassemble the car for paint and then thought that someone might like to restore this themselves. I have all the trim off of the car that is missing in the pictures. I have purchased new trim for the rockers, front of the hood and new front and rear bumpers. The car has absolutely no rot or rust that I can find. I have owned 7 Mustangs and Cougars so I know where to look. The torque boxes, frame rails, trunk, etc. are all PERFECT. There is not even any rust under the battery. This car is truely a time capsule and is the best foundation for a resoration of resto-mod I have ever seen in original condition. So if you want an easy restoration that doesn't require piecing the car together after removing the rust, this one is for you. On Oct-15-10 at 06:20:22 PDT, seller added the following information: My reserve is $3800.00 It is for sale elsewhere so I reserve the reight to end this ad at any time. Good luck and happy bidding. On Oct-15-10 at 08:51:22 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer a few questions: The car has power steering. The pump is out so I can reseal it. No A/C or power brakes. I will credit the buyer $150.00 if they do not want the GT wheels. I will reinstall original wheels and tires.
