Vehicle Detail
I have a 1974 Karmann Ghia Coupe for sale. I bought the car roughly 6 months ago and all I want from it is what I put into it. Title: The title is still in the name of the original owner. I have not changed it over due to an abrupt move from Arizona to Oregon and being rather unsure of what my future held. So, I have the title and the title is in the original owners name with sale to me. It is a California title. Engine: I have driven the car roughly 1000 miles. I drove it from Fresno, Ca. to Phoenix and then on occasion to and from work. The plates and registration were current at the time. I have changed the oil twice using High Grade Pennzoil changing every 500 miles. I also use premium gas in the car and when possible clear gas. The engine is intact and near as I can tell, no one has altered the components. The 47 +K miles listed are original, the car had not turned over 100 K. I would encourage the buyer to do a thorough inspection of the engine, tune-up etc. before taking it on a long excursion. The body: The original paint job was a lime green and at some point someone painted it a “gun-metal grey.” I know this because in the front storage compartment, the “painter” omitted areas leaving it that lovely lime green. Also, when opening the front-storage compartment, the hood “sticks.” The passenger door also needs a new door panel (interior). It has the spare tire and the original VW tire-jack. Now, the body is lean, mean and clean except for one scratch at the right-rear (if you’re looking at it from the front). The scratch-crease is about 6-8 inches in length (that’s a guess). The left tail-light is cracked. The battery is borderline, but I am purchasing a new battery so the owner will not need to worry about the battery. When you purchase the Ghia, all you’ll need to do is register and plate the car, as it is ready to be a daily-driver, but again, check it out and give it the once through since I have not been driving it. Brakes: The Emergency Brake needs to be “re-connected.” The brakes work well, but the e-brake is not connected as it needs a new cable. The interior is nice; seats as you can see are in good shape as is the dash. The stereo is a JVC 180W KD-S6250 and the speakers are Pioneer. The sound is great. Also, there is a “nick” in the windshield on the driver’s side. I have posted a picture for you to see. I picked up when towing it up here from AZ. If you have questions please email me.
