Vehicle Detail
Rare opportunity to own a 1966 F100 factory 4 wheel drive. Thousands invested in preserving this very rare, collectable truck. I purchased the truck from the family of the original owner in Vancouver Washington in 2007. The truck was a camping/fishing rig that had been parked for 10 years until I purchased it from the son of the original owner, who was a pilot stationed at McChord AFB in WA. I have a copy of the original title! The odometer on the truck shows 41,915 miles, which I was told was acurate, but cannot verify; judging by the condition of the seat, pedals and overall condition of the truck, I believe this to be correct mileage. It is a factory 4x4 truck that I was told was ordered as a heavy half ton with 3/4 ton suspension. The original FE352 engine was replaced with a compleely rebuilt 390 that was from a 1972 Ford f250 4x4, so it is a correct truck engine. The truck has power steering and power brakes, and has 4 new Toyo M/S tires that ride great on on/off road. The truck is extremely solid, but does have some minor rust issues that I have detailed in the pictures. There is a small amount of rust on both the driver and passenger floor at the kick panel seam, which I am told is very common for this year and model. All of the body panels and cab mounts and supports are virtually rust free. In preserving the truck, I had had the truck professionally stripped and painted the original #22528 Sahara beige single stage color. The paint is not show quality, but is very good, I would say a 7 out of 10. I had intended on driving the truck as a daily driver, so I did not desire a perfect paint job. The front windshield is new, all glass is good, all windows roll up/down as they should. The doors open/close/ fit like new. Since I purchased the truck, in addition to the body work, I have replaced the original 352 with the completely rebuilt 390, I have replaced clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing, new front brakes, all new front 4 wheel drive u joints, all new drive shaft u joints, new front wheel bearings, all new exhaust, from manifold back with new heat riser, all new hoses, belts, heater core, new 800CA top line battery, and heater control valve. It has a brand new carburator, and upgraded it to electronic ignition. All lights switches and signals work. The radio works, but needs a speaker which I have and can install prior to sale. It has an original Bellevue Industries/WARN 8274-50 8000 lb. winch that works perfectly. It has 150 feet of 8,000 lb cable. The truck had an air compressor tank under the frame rail, which I have disconnected but is still there. There are switches in the cab that control rear bumper lights and auxilary lights that were in the topper that came with the truck, which I have removed. It has a tach on the steering column, and runs at 3200 RPM at 70MPH. I have kept it in dry storage, always covered with a battery conditioner on it when not in use. It is started and driven in nice weather and has not been driven in snow or salt. I empahasize that this is not a show quality truck, but with very little time and money it could be. It is a great driver, that needs a new home. It would be a great cabin or ranch truck, weekend driver, or a very desirable truck to take to tthe next level. There are very few of these left, I am told there were 4200 factory 4x4 F100's built in 1966. The truck runs and drives excellent. I has a 350 gears so it will cruise at highway speeds. I would not hesitate to drive it coast to coast. It has just been completely serviced all fluids checked and changed. I have invested over 12,000.00 into this truck, and have set the reserve much less than what I have invested. In fairness to all bidders, I opt to not divulge reserve price. I do reserve the right to end auction at any time as per ebay auction requirements. I request that all bidders that have a negative or less than 10 item history contact me prior to bidding via ebay message. The truck is sold AS IS with no warranty implied or consented. The truck is located in 12 miles from MSP airport in Chaska MN. The truck can be seen prior to bid ending by appointment. It has a clear MN title in my name and has current MN registration. Thank you for looking!
