I have owned this car for awhile and have LOVED it. I was told the car was bought new at Bale Chevrolet in Little Rock new and has been titled in Arkansas since. I bought the car local for myself when I sold my 55 and the previous owner had done all the mechanical restoration needed. He built the engine which is a 396 back stock with a little larger cam but not radical it is not matching numbers but is a 1969 build code.The car has a stock cast iron intake and a Q jet carb. The transmission is a Muncie 4-speed that was also gone thru. The rearend is a 12 bolt with 373 gears. The car has aftermarket heat and air that works VERY WELL with the original controls that was installed within the past two years along with the engine build. It appears stock under the hood with few exceptions. I had the car painted at the local Chevrolet dealer at the end of last year. I replaced the marker light bezels the tailight bezels the tailight lens and all trim that was needed. I had the vinyl stripe replaced after the paint. The door jambs and trunk jambs were done also. The vinyl top was new last year and I had the back peeled up and painted past the top of the window. The paint turned out Very nice and slick. I replaced several interior items that it needed. The visors the visor mounts,mirror,window cranks,sill plates,kick panels,package tray,stereo,speakers,vents the list goes on. I bought a 200 watt Custom Autosound stereo with I pod hookup and charger along with four new Polk Audio speakers and kick panels. I have done everything that i can to make this a Very Nice driver and it is VERY DEPENDABLE I drive it several times a week and have driven it as far as 200 miles one way and does fine. The transmission shifts good the engine has AWESOME SOUND and GREAT POWER it runs better than expected starts well at any temp and idles VERY STRONG. It has disc brakes that have been rebuilt. The front and rear stabilizer bars are in place. I had the exhaust replaced from the headers back with 2 1/2 and 40 series Flowmasters I cannot stress how good this car sounds. The trunk and floors are solid the quarters are solid the rockers are good there is no signs of rust underneath hard to say rust free on any old car but it is a nice clean car. I replaced all of the door handles outside along with the locks. The windows roll well the wipers and all lights work the signals horn and dome light work as expected. The guage cluster was replaced also and has the tach and all guages work PERFECT. I replaced the headlight switch last week. I dont want to say my car is Perfect because its not but I have a VERY NICE DRIVER that can hold its own at local shows and better than some I have seen at larger shows. It can be picked the paint is not perfect it was not 15k but I spent alot of CASH at the Chevrolet dealer in town and was proud when I got it. The car is not a perfect show car but again much nicer than many I have seen. IF you would PLEASE come see my car I sell it straight CHECK MY FEEDBACK!!! It has had repair panels welded in over the rear tires that you can see in the trunk. It has the jack spare and mat in place. I have several parts that come with it. I dont want to run my car down but I am picky and buy and sell over 100 cars a month but this is my car and I dont want anyone dissappointed. This car is not for the realist that is scared to drive his 75k Chevelle it is for anyone that wants a REAL SS 396 that can be driven and appreciated I have owned both and this car is way more fun and affordable and when I bought it I offered much more for A lot less car and didnt get them bought. The side glasses have some light scratches and the windsheild has a small chip. The tires are VERY NICE the wheels are nice. This car is not for the realist that is scared to drive his 75k Chevelle it is for anyone that wants a REAL SS 396 that can be driven and appreciated I have owned both and this car is way more fun and affordable and when I bought it I offered much more for A lot less car and didnt get them bought. The side glasses have some light scratches and the windsheild has a small chip. The tires are VERY NICE the wheels are nice. All in all like I said the car is a solid 8 and I am proud to own it and get compliments everywhere I go.
