Vehicle Detail
This is a 1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep. I've owned it for about 2 1/2 years and it always lives in my attached garage. When I bought it, the Jeep had been sitting inside a dry, attached garage for the last 25 years. I brought it home, put a new battery in it and poured some gas in the carb and it started right up. Since then I have put new brakes all the way around, rebuilt the wheel cylinders and master cylinder, rebuilt the carburetor, cleaned and sealed the gas tank, and rebuilt much of the front end. We entered it in the 2008 Frog Follies in Evansville, Indiana, and people just flocked to it. It was originally Luzon Red with Universal Beige wheels. It's been painted green and then blue since then. The Luzon Red is visible in the wheel wells and on the firewall. The odometer shows 22,xxx miles. No idea if that's original. I drove it around town until late last year when the clutch went out. You'll need to put a new clutch assembly in it and it'll be ready to go again. While you're at it, I'd replace the rear main seal to dry up a small leak. I bought this CJ because it is about 95 percent original. No one has modified the crap out of it like most of them have been. The tires have a ton of tread on them. I start the engine about once a month. It is such a solid old jeep. You won't find many in the country that are this restorable. It does have some rust present, but it is much, much less than most of its age. Very little rust-thru. Please notice the dent in the left rear corner. I have a clear Indiana title in my name with the original serial number on it. My name is Jerry and you can reach me at 812-204-3300. The Jeep is being sold as-is, where-is.
