Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1965 Impala Super Sport Convertible with power top, power steering and power brakes. This car has been in my family for over 15 years and stored for the last 5. Prior to storage, my brother in-law built the 383/Power Glide combo and drove it briefly before other projects took his time. He has given me the engine/trans specs below: 350 cubic inch 4 Bolt Main block, stroked to 383 Crowler stroker crank Crowler full race cam Roller rockers and roller lifters Aluminum rods 11.5 to 1 pistons with plasma molly rings 202 Edelbrock aluminum heads port and polished Torquer II manifold 383 Moroso oil pan pump and extender pick up MSD Flamethrower Programmable ignition 2 speed Power Glide reprogrammed with racing blue discs 2200 Super Hole Shot B&M stall converter ARP Bolts throughout New radiator The carb needs to come off this motor and be replaced with a 750 double pumper or better to allow the motor to perform under load. It will run with this carb, but you will starve the motor over 3000 RPM. Motor and trans expense (5 years ago) was $8,000. He also set up full instrumentation with new AutoMeter gauges: Fuel, Oil, Speedo, Temp and Volts. I am not sure which gauges are hooked up but the wiring for all gauges, and a Pioneer CD player/remote, needs to be sorted out and is currently tucked behind the dash. This car has excellent original glass. Body has rust in the expected lower areas but is very restorable. Older body work on lower quarters, rockers, doors and fenders has bubbled and would need to be re-done. There is also a rust spot on the hood. The frame is solid. Interior floor pans appear solid and trunk pan has minor patch work. Interior features the Super Sport console with rally clock, bucket seats with the wide chrome bands. Seats need to be reupholstered (at least front buckets) and covers/springs/buns are available at 1-800 YEAR ONE in GA or IMPALA BOB's out of AZ. In fact most everything needed to restore this car is available on the aftermarket and would require average skill to complete. I have not fired the motor or hooked up the exhaust pipes. Fuel tank will need to be cleaned out first. Parts in the trunk are: original speedometer, power steering pump and hose, new power top motor, jack, new gas tank fuel sending unit, exhaust pipe flanges to headers and front fender trim. This is a real Super Sport with rare original paint code P-2 Evening Orchid. It was built in Janesville, WI where they put the antenna mast on the rear quarter panel instead of the front fender (nice look!) Sold as is on Bill of Sale. Selling the whole car for less than motor expenses. Bring your trailer or arrange shipping. Please e-mail me with any questions and I will be happy to describe this car as accurately for you as possible. I am also available via cell at (770) 335-3982. Thanks for looking! Dan
