Vehicle Detail

Hello 1950's " custom car", " lead sled ", & " Hot Rod " collectors, This car is an ORIGINAL Gene Meeks Design ; GENUINE 1950's BUILT! 1955 MOTOR TREND MAGAZINE FEATURED CUSTOM BUILT CAR! OFFERED WITH NO RESERVE ! I have 100% Positive Feedback & 100% sales because I price my finds in Antiques & collectibles fairly ; and once in a while I do find something special in an interesting classic car. It is priced low to make sure that it is sold! It's a real auction with Low opening bid and NO RESERVE. HIGH BIDDER WINS THE CAR! or use the "Buy-It-Now" option. This wonderful car was built by Gene Meeks in 1954 . Featured in March 1955 Motor Trend Magazine. It was stored away for the past 40+ years and it is now running & driving again with it's healthy OLDS ROCKET ENGINE, research shows that the Rocket engine was the hot rodders choice of engines back in 1954 and all through the mid-fifties! google: Olds Rocket engine history. It is now running nicely again over a half century later! It is based on a Top-of-the-Line car, the Packard Patrician- thus it is still solid as a rock 60 years later! Doors open and close like new. Only 67,490 miles. The grill surround originates from 1954 Nash Ambassador; 1951 Ford fog lights; front bumper 1952 Chrysler ; front fender tips are 1951 Studebaker Commander ; part of hood from 1939 Ford trunk lid; 1954 Oldsmobile Rocket Engine (most popular hot rodders engine in the mid '50's), frenched trunk with no handles (hidden trunk release under the rear step plates next to the Continental kit; we suspect 1954 Pontiac fins?;the other hidden/opening rumble seat "step plate" opens to reveal the hidden gas filler!) Original 50's spinner hubcaps & fender skirts! The interior is completely original custom and very well made & stitched, VERY futuristic for its day! They must have thought that it was like something from Buck Rogers back in 1955! This is a real 1950's custom rod done during the period, that is special! The word "Vintage" is correctly used in this case while most others custom cars are modern copies of these pioneer hot rodders & custom car builders. I also see the term "Old School" often used, this one really is from the old school of lead work builders. There is no bondo, everything was painstakenly done with lead work back in those days...true "lead sleds". Gene Meeks built it, Then it was used by a University professor until the mid-60's (yearly WIU university window stickers are stick on from early-mid-60's) Also a sticker from "Cal's Cars". The car spent all of its years in central Illinois. I am including the original March 1955 Motor Trend Magazine. That is it's history! I paid a good old mechanic to "bring it back to life" after all the years in storage. He bought the very expensive but correct,- long battery; he worked for many days to bring the engine back to life and running well with many new parts; then I spent hundreds of dollars more having the mechanic then do the brakes. She is now running ,driving and stopping. I have only taken a sample drive around the block. Engine is very healthy and it has dual exhaust! Wide whitewall tires; all glass is good; solid body & floors, lights work, etc, etc. Body is very solid, paint is only good for knocking around for the mean while, but would look best returned to the original white or something else more interesting! It's a BIG car, tall & long, in white again or with any great paint job it will be a knock-out as it was in 1955! It is for sale AS-IS WHERE IS, and I recommend that you or a representative can come to see it in my driveway, I am selling it cheap enough so that you are safe and can not go wrong as an investment or for pleasure if you appreciate this work of 1950's "automotive art". IT IS THE ONLY ONE IN EXISTANCE, IT IS ONE OF A KIND, IF YOU APPRECIATE UNUSUAL THINGS, THIS IS A CAR FOR YOU! It has Packard's top quality build, it has a classic yet unusual look with it's sculpted contours and curves, the grill is GREAT and I also love the rear Continental kit area with FINS! It is an absolute certainty that everyone will stare and talk about it at any car show. I am offering it at a very low reserve, must sell. I am an ebayer for over 12 years with 100% Positive feedback from being fair to deal with! FAIR AUCTION ESTIMATE $7,000-$10,000 I am hoping for about $8500 (middle of estimate) but...it's a real auction with NO RESERVE! High bidder wins the car! Thank you! NO RESERVE! HIGH BIDDER WINS THIS VERY SPECIAL, GENE MEEKS CUSTOM BUILT CAR. THANK YOU!
