Vehicle Detail
I HAD TO RE-LIST, SINCE I WENT OUT OF TOWN LAST MINUTE AND WOULD NOT BE AROUND TO ANSWER QUESTIONS DURING THE LAST DAY. THIS IS A DUPLICATE LISTING, DETAILS ARE THE SAME, EXCEPT I WILL BE AROUND TO ANSWER QUESTIONS IN THE CRITICAL FINAL DAY OF THE LISTING. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY HAVE CAUSED. I ALSO GOT MORE THAN A FEW QUESTIONS ON THE LIEN RELEASE THAT I FEEL I SHOULD CLARIFY. THE CAR WAS ORIGINALLY FINANCED THROUGH GMAC. THE TITLE SHOWS GMAC AS THE LIENHOLDER. IN THE GOVERNMENT BAILOUT OF GM, GMAC WAS TAKEN OVER BY ALLY. THE LIEN RELEASE IS INCLUDED AND IS ON OFFICIAL ALLY LETTERHEAD. SO, THE TITLE IS READY TO TRANSFER, WITH THE CORRECT LIEN RELEASE. Up for sale is one 1982 Camaro Berlinetta. This car has LESS THAN 55,000 ORIGINAL MILES. See speedometer photo - it is a 6 digit speedometer. See photo of New York Title - it was last issued with 49,000 miles. Lien release is included - see photo. GMAC as now ALLY and lien release is from ALLY. This car is in need of a new home, I am listing this for my father - he no longer wants it and is ready to sell it. The car has the 305 V-8 in it and an automatic transmission. I rebuilt the carb a few years ago. It starts right up, and the automatic choke and high idle work fine. The car goes down the road pretty well. The transmission shifts well, so slipping or any issues at all. ALL GAUGES WORK FINE. Please see the photo of the dipstick by the emission label - it is VERY clean. The car has had Amsoil in it since my father has owned it. My father bought the car about 7 or 8 years ago. It was sitting outside, not garage kept. So, it is not a pristine vehicle as the pictures show. It has NOT been driven in the winter since he has had it, so no salt has been eating at it since my father has owned it. It still sits outside, it is NOT garage kept. (See cobwebs on underneath photos!) About 5 years ago we put new front coil springs in it, new calipers and new brake hoses on the front. The front had two broken coil springs and was sagging badly. The ignition key cylinder broke, and was replaced about a month ago, so that is basically brand new. The seats are in pretty good shape - back seat has almost no wear. All glass is GOOD. This car can best be described as a project car, or one that you can drive after fixing it up. The power windows only work a little - the motors turn, but there is some slipping/rattling going on when you hit the switch. They will move up and down somewhat if the window is pulled by hand as the switch is held. Most of the interior blue plastic has been deteriorated from the sunlight - the surfaces are bleached and brittle. The radio does NOT work. The stereo light comes on like it is trying to tune, but the speakers only click when the radio is turned on or off. The dashboard has visible cracks as some of the pictures show. One visor is broken and there is a replacement one that is black. The headliner has been replaced, but the trim pieces are not tight/missing screws. The valve cover gaskets are leaking and need replacement. Please see photos for the visible rust - both A pillars have rust holes, the driver's side much worse than the passenger. Also, the bottom of the driver's door is bubbling in several spots. The wheel wells appear to be in GREAT SHAPE, as do the rocker panels - something you do not see on these cars. It will need the following things to pass inspection and be legally driveable in New York: Complete exhaust system. It only has a cherry bomb to keep the noise down. Brakes likely need to be done front and rear, they work fine, but the car is driven very little and the brakes develop rust just from sitting around. The tires are weather checked and cracked. They hold air fine, but are not good for daily driving chores, or may not last for more than a short mileage trip. Basically, this is a car for someone who likes an older car to fix and drive or restore. So, if you want a car to tinker with or restore, here is a chance to get one of the LOWEST MILEAGE 1982 Camaros out there. Please check my feedback, I do the best to accurately describe my listings and people are happy with my items. PLEASE call if you have detailed questions, I can get the answer to you within a half a day or so. This car is driven only a few hundred miles a year, so specific questions will likely require a closer look at something. Please examine photos and description carefully, there are a lot of details in there - maybe out of place and hard to find! For any info please call (315)806-6560 and ask for Walt. Car is located at Zip Code 13143. CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AND LISTING CAN BE ENDED AT ANY TIME. CASH PREFERRED at time of pickup, checks acceptable, but MUST CLEAR BEFORE PICKUP.
