Up for bid is a great 1966 Chevelle SS. It is a real 138 Vin car. It was completely rebuilt 2-3 years ago and only has 1,000 miles on the build. It was stripped down to the frame and everything on the car was done. This includes a brand new drivetrain. It has a GM 454 Crate Engine with Aluminum heads. It is rated at 440hp. It has a Mallory ignition system and Holley Carb. The intake manifold is the stock GM unit that comes with the crate motor. The exhaust system is all new and uses Hooker headers going to Flowmaster mufflers. It has a new Muncie M21 4-speed, a new drive shaft, and a new 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 gears. The car has been upgraded with power disc brakes up front, and the stock drums in the rear. 15” Corvette Rally Wheels are on the car. All of the suspension components are brand new, including the control arms, upper and lower ball joints, control arm bushings, tie rods, sway bar bushings, and air shocks in the rear. The body is in great shape. There is NO rust at all on the car. The paint is fresh and was done professionally. It is not an original red car but it is the color that they used in 1966. All the gaps are really good. There is all new weather stripping on the car so it is very tight and sealed. The trunk is very clean and has fresh paint as well. There is an aftermarket tilt steering column. The car uses the original AC system with a retrofit to eliminate the outdated R12. The AC blows very cold and works perfectly. The heat also works very well. All of the lights, blinkers, high-beams, and brake lights work. The car has power steering so it is a dream to drive. The Vin number breaks down as follows. 138176A188398. The 1 designates Chevrolet. 38= SS 396. 17= 2 door sport coupe. 6=1966. A= It was produced in Atlanta, Georgia. The 188398 designates the production number. The interior is also all new, including seats, seat covers, carpet, and head liner. The glass is all very good. Some of the dash components can be replaced if you want to make the car perfect. It is missing a radio but that is it. This car drives like a brand new car. If you could imagine a new 1966 SS with a 454 coming off the assembly line, this would be it. You can drive the car all day in traffic and the heat and it won’t break 190 degrees. This is a great daily driver if that is what you are looking for, or just a good car to keep as an investment and drive occasionally. This is not a matching numbers Barrett Jackson trailer queen. If that is what you want then this isn’t the car for you. The only reason I am selling this is because I’m looking to buy property so I need to sell off some of the assets. I was planning on hanging on to this for a couple years until the economy strengthens and make a profit but my priorities have changed. I do not want to store it for the winter and don’t have the room with my other cars and motorcycles. So this deal is getting passed to you.
