So.......we bought this magnificently rare and hard to find truck with the idea of fixing it up. Seriously, we go to all the car shows and there is hardly ever one there (I think those darn Corvair/Greenbriar vans are ganging up on them....just kidding). This is a 1962 5 window Ford Econoline truck. That's right. Not van, but truck. You never see these trucks anymore and dear hubby got lots of looks and thumbs up from hotrodders as he toodled on down the road. It was meant to be similar to the Dodge A100, VW and Chevy vans. It has the 170 cid motor and a 3 spd transmission with the shifter on the column. The truck is in good condition especially considering it's age but by no means showcar condition (really, it needs some body work, especially on the bed). It has been sitting for some time now. When we crank it up it runs fine for a few minutes and then dies out. We've been told the carb blew a power valve and that it is an easy fix, but I'm no mechanic and dear hubby doesn't have the time, so we will leave that up to the new owner to repair. He does not wish to sell the truck but I'm sick of watching it sit in my driveway and it has to go. This truck is located in Hope Mills, NC, zip code 28348, and we have the free and clear title in hand. So! With all that being said, now for the small print. This is an "as is" auction. There is absolutely, positively no expressed, implied, or stated warranty. What is described and pictured is exactly what you will get. A down payment of 10% is due by cashier's check or money order within 7 days of the auction's end, and the balance is due in cash (seriously, not a regular bank check unless it has already cleared and DEFINITELY not by paypal) within 14 days when you pick the truck up, or if you are having it picked up and delivered the balance will need to be paid by money order, cashier's check, or CLEARED bank check before they arrive to get it. Again, please note, this truck is not running, so you will need to have a trailer, tow truck or shipping/delivering service get the truck. We'll leave those options up to you as you know your situation/budget much better than we do. Got questions? Don't hesitate to ask.
