Vehicle Detail
1948 chevy thriftmaster truck 1948 Chevy Thriftmaster pickup truck Streetrod HOT ROD. Being sold at no reserve. This is a California car brought to Michigan about 2 years ago. NO RUST! Has never seen snow. Automatic transmission shifts like a dream. TONS of first class body work on this beauty including, stock frame being shortened 21 inches (you will appreciate this when you look at your garage space), body chopped 3 inches, angled A pillers, shaved door handles w/remote poppers, frenched headlights and and power antenna, custom gas filler, tubbed rear wheel wells for HUGE Mickey Thompson 29/18.5/15 wheels, 3rd brake light. Chrome running boards. Tilt steering wheel, seat belts, VDO gauges, A/C (blows cold) and Heat, chromed out newer (2000 miles) 350 engine, 3.53 rear end means runs on freeway nicely. Hooker headers w/cherry bomb mufflers that have a nice rumble, but not at a level where it hurts. AM/FM cassette, power windows with remote, front and rear disc brakes, Power steering, Mustang II front suspension. Painted in Porsche Guards Red. Nicely done interior by Ralph Sims. Vin N343716CAL. Was a California car built by the legendary Al King. ALL STEEL BODY except rear fiberglass fenders. No rust. Beautiful Billet Specialties Eagle steering wheel. Tinted glass. Some very nice pin stripping on tailgate. Non-smoker and no pets. This is a real fine ride that get lots of thumbs up. No leaks, no smoke, starts right up first try. Paint has a few small chips. This is a reliable driver. Other than that I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. This is a reliable and well built HOT ROD with lots of eye appeal. The vintage art deco look of this truck is a real winner. Was featured in the December 2000 issue of Street Rodder magazine and a copy goes with the truck. I have 16 cars and just need to make some room. ** I have a professional appraisal report from November 2008 by Auto Appraisal Network. This is a 30 page report that puts the replacement value at $52,000.00. Serious buyers contact Roland 248-910-5240 No trades and please don't contact to 'help' me sell this car. This car is 61 years old. As such it is being sold as is where is with no warranty given or implied. I drove this car on Woodward Ave in stop and go pre-Woodward Dream Cruise bumper to bumper traffic 8/19/2010 from 6:30PM till 9PM and didn't overheat. That's saying something. One guy pulled up and told me my car was "wicked awesome". On Sep-26-10 at 18:48:35 PDT, seller added the following information: A few more details... Transmission, Chevy TH350 with shift kit and a Gennie shifter with a TCI 2000rpm-stall converter. '78 Mustang II front cross members. 11 inch Camaro disc front setup from Fatman Fabrications, '79 Eldorado rear disc assembly. Billet Specialties valve covers, polished aluminum pulleys and a whole host of polished and chromed accessories. Cerullo bucket seats, Wabbit's dash panel. Vintage Air climate control system. VDO Heritage Gold gauges. 15 gal gas tank. Additional body modifications, shaved driprails, rolled rear pan, inserted third brake light below rear window, taillights moved into bed supports. Relocated gas filler into front side of the right rear Old Chicago fender. '54 merc headlights set into fenders (frenched). Note how well the curved corner windows line up with the side windows. Look at a stock '48 to see what I mean. The work and time spent on all these body mods alone is amazing. Remote pops either door or rolls down either window. I also have 20 pictures of the build process that will go with the truck.
