This Bug is owned by a lady that works in our office department,and she has owned this bug for approx 7 years. She has sasked us to sell this for her. Here is the decription. This 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible is a Wedgewood Blue with a white top and white interior. Repainted in Spring 2004. Includes rustproofing and undercoating. It has new pushrods, body mouldings and weatherstripping. New brakes and battery. New floor pans. Tires are OK with 2 tires replaced in 2004. Convertible top was replaced in 2005. Equipped AM/FM/CD player with detachable faceplate.
Odometer does NOT work-shows 63,000.
Interior replaced in 2004 and shows some minor wear and tear.
Still have some old original mouldings, door handles
Runs well but needs new air flow meter-$200 in JC Whitney catalog or Mid America MOtorworks-Labor around $80
A lot of wiring, seals, knobs, assist straps have been replaced
Uses throttle switch to start
Air does not work/some heat, but not much
gas gauge needs new sending unit/works but sometimes not accurate
Vehicle not driven more than 300 miles/year within the last 3 years-has been covered and under a car port.
Purchasing vehicle was a joint venture/one of the owners passed away and must be sold.
Car was purchased needing restoration and most of that restoration has been finished.
Vehicle was originally an orange lady bug-when painting was done they indicated that it was once painted white then black and finally blue with a touch of pearl. Some of the paint is starting to crack and peel in some areas.
No keys to door locks.

For all out of state purchases, Sales tax will be determined based on your states tax rates and not the tax rates of Illinois. For AZ, CA, FL, HI, IN, MA, MI, and SC the sales tax will be included in the funding, however, for all other states taxes and licensing fees will not be included in the price. All other fees are based on titleing and licensing in your respective state. For all Illinois residents the sales tax rate is 6.25%, License and Title Fee is $194, and the documentation fee applies.
