Vehicle Detail
1978 El Camino - Custom - Blue-Green with black interior. NO RESERVE Here is a typed statement from the previous owner (I took this in trade + cash for a street rod I had built): Previous Owner Statement: I’ve had this truck since 91 and have been working on it since. At 100K mi I replaced the bushings, ball joints and idlers. I had the trans rebuilt and I rebuilt the engine replacing the stock cam, rockers, intake and carb with edelbrock parts. I replaced brakes on all 4 corners. Ground effects were added and the car was painted PPG blue green. New carpet and a stereo were installed and I had the seat redone along with a new headliner and visors. The gauges all work except the odometer which quit at 115,000 about a year ago and I figure I have put on less than 2K miles since, all in town. The hood is cracking where the cowl induction scoop was glued and screwed on and there is a small dent in the tailgate. The upper dash pad is new and the lower shows its age. The chrome is pretty good and the rear bumper has a ding above where a trailer hitch once lived. This is a good runner, almost a show car. As the new owner, here is what I have found: The right visor will not stay up, the transmission gear selector indicator is missing, the wipers do not work and the seat will not adjust. The latch to the glove box is not correct. I have listed the mileage as zero as I really do not know - please read the previous owners statement. This vehical has a clear wyoming title and a brand new battery - This is being sold with NO reserve. With just a little bit of work, you can have a very sharp ride! Please do not ask about trades. On Sep-27-10 at 13:14:05 PDT, seller added the following information: With just a few days to go I am completely bewildered at the very low bids on this El Camino! This is a very, very nice custom El Camino. It instantly starts, runs like a dream, looks like a million dollars and would cost anyone many, many thousands of dollars to duplicate. Anyone that is interested in this car and does not bid enough to win it will be so frustrated should they later see the car. Truly, you will be making a big mistake if you let this slip through your fingers. Enough said.
