Selling my father inlaws 96 Ford Ranger XL. Second owner. The first owner was a friend in the construction trades and got in a accident some years back so his insurance fixed it including a new engine. The newer motor that's in it now accounts for only about half of the mileage listed. Running condition: The motor runs strong with no problems. The transmission is automatic but has always shifted a little tight like a manual but that could be because the idle runs a bit high so the timing may need to be reset. There is a whining sound when you get going up to about 20-25 mph and then the noise stops but it does not effect the drive and to be honest I don't now what it is. Interior / Exterior: As the pictures show this truck has all the dings, scratches, and cosmetic flaws associated with a work truck but my father inlaw did do some minor body work to smooth out some of the dings as well as replace the headlights, grill, and front chrome bumper ( new ). Tinted windows. The interior is just ok and needs a new or better used bench seat unless you are not offended by duct-tape. The gas gauge does not work The AC does not hold a charge but a mechanic some time ago said it was a bad ac line. The heater and fan works great. There is a crack and chip in the windshield but has not moved since. With the exception of the flaws mentioned all the other electrical systems work fine ( lights dash, exterior lights etc.. all work. Brakes and tires are in great shape.
