Vehicle Detail
Here's a beauty. 1975 honda cb500t. These were only made for 2 years, and dismissed for its "ugly brown seat". Now they are very hard to find, especially in this condition! This bike has less than 7k miles on it! It runs excellent and RELIABLE. Before me, it hadn't been registered since 1979. I have had it since april, and have put 100 miles on it. Im selling for a new project. There is hardly any rust on the bike. There are a few very small spots on the frame, thats about it. Chrome looks great. Tank has no dents, original paint is good except for some surface marks on the top (see pic). Now heres what has been done: New tiresoil change/cleaned out centrifical oil filter.cleaned oil pump screen (not bad too, no metal flakes!)Rebuilt front brake caliper and caliper bracketRebuilt master cylinder. (still rare original brown version)New brake padsAdjusted ignition pointsAdjusted valve tappetsNew spark plugsRebuilt carbs and synched.New battery (maintenance free one, no more leaking acid! And keeps charge much better than traditional battery)New flasher relayAdded inline fuel filters.New Clubman handlebars with wiring running INSIDE the barsNew gripsNew bar end mirrorsNew tach/speedometer gauge facesNew Emgo Lucas style tail light (solid cast/ chrome plated, not that plastic junk)New genuine NOS matching keys (work on ignition, gas, and seat)I'll also include some extra of the hard to find fuses and some bulbs too. ANd best of all, CLEAN TITLE. No hassles here, just one trip to the registry and your off. Bike is currently registered in MA, passed inspection. Also comes with original owners manual. Overall the bike runs great, Starts every time, hasn't stalled once since the carbs were synched. When completely cold, I use the choke only for the first few seconds, and give it some gas until its warm. During this time, the left exhaust sometimes pops a little while its still cold. No concern. You may want to change the fork oil, I just never got around to it. If you dont know how, I can do it for you if you are patient. Inside of tank has a little bit of rust, but the inline fuel filters catch anything and can be cleaned. Really not bad compared to most its age. The exhaust is original And in excellent shape, no rust-thru's. The only imperfection is the fastening cups had to be rewelded. (can see in side profile pic, under peg, slightly darker spot). Lastly, one side panel has a small yellow spot on it. looks like the paint got rubbed and its yellow plastic underneath. Minor, see pic. This bike looks better than many bikes that are only a few years old. And its got 35 years under its belt! I want you to be as happy as this bike has made me. Im trying to make you informed as possible. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me. Its up to you to arrange pickup/shipping. If you are shipping, I'm willing to build it a pallet and strap it in (you pay for wood $35.00). YOu will have to inform me of any pallet requirements of transporter. I used the kickstart because i'm soo cool, but it also has an electric start too. If you are nearby, I can also show the bike this weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_c6jGadmvk 47 of you watching this listing so Far!!! On Sep-18-10 at 16:40:46 PDT, seller added the following information: **** second update***** I drove it today and it was the first time starting it completely cold since the timing was adjusted, there is no trace of the "occasional popping from exhaust when starting cold" that I had mentioned before. And it idles oh so smooth.
